This thread is here to get people ready for the March VCS competition coming up. If you don't know what that is, it stands for "Vizzed Championship Series".

It is a posting competition. Every 24 hour period (based on Vizzed board time) the top 10 people with the highest post count for that day (posts per day) will receive points. 1st place gets 10 points, 2nd gets 9, 10th gets 1.

These points are totalled up over the month and the winner is whoever has the most points at the end of March.

Now, this time around I'm going to be a LOT more strict. I don't want people posting crap JUST to get a higher rank on the VCS. I'm going to be keeping watch on how people are posting and if I (and at least 1 global mod) agree that someone is spamming in order to win the VCS then they will recieve a 1 day ban which disqualifies them from that days points.

I post the results on a daily basis. Usually right after the day ends but not always. Don't worry, I will post them.

Feel free to ask any questions about this. I purposefully posted it a few days early so that people can know about any understand the game before it gets started.

Won't that be a little hard to keep up with. Also, I don't like the points thing, because if you are one a lot in one day and do a hundred good posts, then it won't really help you if the person in 2nd has fifty, because you could have got the same amount of points by doing 51... I like the mod thing, but I think you should incorporate it with the way the VCSs are normally done...

First off it won't be hard to do.... I've done the VCS 5 or 6 times. It's really simple.

And the point system is the way it works. That's how it's been done every single time. I'm not changing it just because you don't like the system. That IS the system.

And how should I incorporate the mod thing into how the VCS's are normally done? that makes no sense.

ohhh. I thought that they just totalled up the amount of posts at the end of the month... that is what I thought was the "normal way". Thanks for "enlightening" me .

heh, no. It's more complicated than that. This gives the game more strategy. You can't just post 200 times and have a huge lead or anything. You have to use common sense about how you get points. Once you get a lead, if you maintain a spot in the top 3 or 4 posters of every day it's hard for people to catch up.

How does this work for different time zones? I mean, how can you tell when the days start for each person?

You have to figure out the start and end times for the VCS on your own. It doesn't figure in time zones. Go to your profile and if you've set your time zone properly it should tell you how far out you are from the board's time zone. I'm -1 so the VCS starts at 11 pm on Feb 28th. For most people it will start later than that on the 1st, according to their time zones.

What happens when you get into the top 5? Is there any prize, or is it just for fun... I was thinking that somehow we could have a Viz prize or something along that line....

we've considered Viz prizes before... but getting into the top 5 requires a large amount of posting as it is which gives out a lot of Viz.

The reward is the custom title saying what place you got in the contest. I'm not saying there won't be a Viz reward.... but if there is I'm not going to tell you guys about it. I don't want to encourage spamming any more than I already have by having this contest at all

This is my first time in this competition hope I do well and the same with all of you.

The first month that I was on vizzed, there was a VCS and I got 7th... that was back in December, I expect to get in the top 5 at least....

septembern I hope you at least make your goals I just want to be consider for in the top 10's.

top 5 can be tough... you've got to be pretty consistent with your posting to get top 5. But you've been pretty active sept... you might do it.

I'm not even expecting to rank in it. I'm sixth in the past 30 days, but there are people behind me that will be able to up their posting a lot in a snap.

yeah... but you don't have to post tons in order to get a high rank.... most people who get into the top 5 are consistent posters... not always the top numbers every day... they just post 20+ on a daily basis. That is always good for points.
