Okay so this happened in a conversation I had with 3 of my friends (we'll call them friend 1, friend 2 and friend 3) a few days ago.

We were talking in the park when one of my friends started feeling thirsty and went to a nearby vending machine to get something to drink.
This is what happened;

Friend 1- "Guys I'm thirsty imma get something to drink"

Me, Friend 2, Friend 3- "ok"

--Friend 1 leaves and like 30 seconds later Friend 1 comes back--

Friend 1- "Guys it doesn't work"

--Friend 1 goes to the other vending machine--

Me to Friend 2&3- "lol he was talking about his dad" (as in, his dad has no job)

--Me, Friend 2 and Friend 3 were chuckling a bit--

--Friend 1 comes back--

Friend 1- "Guys the other one doesn't work either"

--Me, Friend 2 and Friend 3 were dying of laughter at this point-- 


That moment was so amazingly timed that I had to share it. We were actually out of breath from laughing so hard.
And for all of you who don't get why we laughed, because of my comment when he left earlier we all took that last sentence as "I have two dads and they're both homeless".

Has something like this ever happened to you, where someone says something normal but in the context of the conversation it becomes hilarious?
