This enemy is a firefly, and to the back of it is a crescent that lights up the part of the room that it  goes through. It’s pretty fast so it’s pretty hard to dodge it, but thankfully it’s defense is pretty low so you can take it out with one normal buster pellet.

It’s in Spark Mandrill's Stage, and appears when you’re traversing the area with bottomless pits. I think they’re there to get you to fall in the pits. If you beat Storm Eagle first, the stage also lights up then becomes dark periodically, so the enemy could help in that instance. In the PSP remake an extra one appears right before you fight Spark Mandrill. In the remake they also appears in Sigma Stage 2.
