I'm watching my name climb the member list and I'm 220 or somewhere there. The member list ranks are based on the total number of words created in both reviews and in the threads and posts of the boards, correct? That's what we're scoring with the EXP column? I was looking at the FAQ and I didn't see an answer but it seemed to make sense to me.

The other question, maybe suggestion, is while the massive number of registered members is nice, why doesn't anyone cull the folks who haven't been active in, say, five or more years or have only two posts in 2009, things like that. Why are there still perma-banned people on that list?

I'm curious. Thanks.

Ghostbear1111 : Where you stand on the membership list is based on your post words (count)/Post experience( they are both the same thing)  , also you've earned that rank (it's sort of like a competition for the top spot)  that's why you can't just exclude people based on their activity or if they are perma banned

Hope this helped ^^

While the memberlist shows all users ranked in Post Experience by default, it can be altered to show certain power levels or even change the rankings based on Viz, Chat Hours, CP and Posts. That's why we cannot exclude any member.

As to why is Post Experience the default ranking, I remember seeing that it's because of quality. Some people with high post counts have a ridiculous word per post average, meaning that most of their posts maybe aren't of high quality (being less detailed also means less quality).

Besides that, nothing else I can add to the above answer.

I don't think I've ever seen a website that just deletes the entire existence of users. No matter where you go, a site that bans people or has inactive members will always show their name or maybe hide them, for a number of reasons. First off, if members were to start disappearing, ID's would have to change each time, it would take a lot of work, and there wouldn't be a record anymore, since members work like an archive.
