I'm a manga fan, but not too big on the anime. So I'm going to give my opinion on the former. =3

FMA = Amazing. I'm completely caught up with the latest chapters, and I'm in love with this manga despite the lack of EdWinry fluff. The fact that Ed is like... amazingly fangirl-worthy isn't helping my obsession either. xD I love the fact that the characters all have actual personalities. None of them are 'flat' characters. And there's even a plot throughout the entire thing. xD Overall, it's one of the best manga I've read. And I'm dying because it only updates once a month.

Yeah I know, the wait for a new manga chapter is really annoying!! But it is worth it. It's a great manga with a perfect balance of fighting and comedy. I think the best part is when Winry bangs Ed's head in every time he breaks his automail.

That is one of the best parts EVER. xD Another awesome one is whenever Ed's asked whether he likes Winry or not. It's how I learned most of the periodic table needed for science. =3 See people? they are redoing this anime because the america totally f***ed it all up. america created their own version of this. the manga of FMA was never finished, but it's on the proccess of getting finished as we speak. japan is redoing the anime that actually follows the story line of the manga. some of the major changes, sloth is not a kid, he is some giant homunculi (what my friend has informed me).

But yes, the same Japanese studio that did the original FMA series is making one based off the manga called FMA: Brotherhood.
It has been out for awhile now, their up to about episode 20 or so.
I dont know if america has it, but it streams (officially) every friday on the aussie distributors website, subbed.
It's only a week behind the Japanese release schedual as well.

I don't think there's a DVD of it out. It seems the only way you can get it is by downloads. They won't start making DVD in the US until a company buys the rights to do so. They'll then distribute it from there. If that show has only 20 episodes it might be a while before all that happens.

i have probably watched the FMA series atleast 4 times and
its one of the only animes i havnt gotten tired with because its just all around good it has good battles, cool

i loved this anime so much when i started watching it. it was the first anime i watched that i knew was an anime. i just loved the story line and i had one of those little cartoon crushes on edward. it was funny. i wanted to dress like him for halloween but his outfit was too expensive. it was a really good series and i wish i could find the movie. i have been watching fullmetal alchemist brotherhood lately though
