So on Reddit a user posted this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/gamedev/comments/4vjhlo/please_read_steams_user_agreement_before_signing/

A complete list of rules, everything is explained. It gives me a gut feeling, under the agreement they could delete my account at any time. Developers have it worst with giving up real life information and the risk of their games being copied. Two other websites did the same thing that makes it accurate:

https://tosdr.org/#steam

From a user:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/tosdr/rhykox7XUfs

So what do you guys think? Should developers be forced to give up personal information? or Do you not care?

I'm a fan of following the rules of whoever creates the rules. If I'm a developer and I'm promoting or selling my game on their site, of course I have to follow the rules set down by the folks who make the website. Otherwise, because the internet is a massive capitalist economy, I just take my game somewhere else and sell it. And if there's nowhere else and everyone hates Steam enough, someone will create a new system or style similar for game storage and developers will go there.

It's capitalism and it's why it works. And if you sign up for it, yes, you follow their rules.

I agree with ghostbear. If they want to sell a game on steam then they have to follow their rules.
It sucks that there are rules that the developer might not be aware of. There are other places where you can sell your games, but none of them are as popular as steam. The Microsoft store, GOG, and Green Man Gaming sells some games that are on steam, but I'm not sure if they are as good as steam.
