Did any of you actually own the TurboGrafx-16 Entertainment SuperSystem console or know of someone who did?? Have any of you ever even seen one? I never even knew of its existence until i found this website. In my childhood my friends and i had C-64, Atari, NES, SNES, SEGA and so on, but i never knew any kids with TurboGrafx.

I'm reading about it on Wikipedia right now. Interesting information for those who care about the history of video game consoles.

This is apparently why it ultimately failed...

"Although touted and marketed at the time as a next generation "16-bit" console, the TurboGrafx-16 was, in fact, built around an 8-bit microprocessor as its CPU. While its CPU was of the previous 8-bit generation, the overall speed of the hardware was somewhat comparable to contemporary 16-bit machines."

I'm off to try some of the games for it. I'm interested to know if anyone has actually seen one before.

The only game that I was actually interested in for the TG16 was Loom, which I easily got on ScummVM.

it also had bad timing if i remember right genesis cameout very soon after.
I had one a bit after since it was cheap and loved it I see it as a stepping stone between 8 bit and 16 bit.
As far as games go, depends on what you like of course, got platformers like bonk, zelda clone..neutopia, bomberman of course, blazing lasers, airzonk etc.

I have the magic engine emu. sure it may not be worth my cash but insiders (owners) hosted their copy for free so I have a free copy.
possibly the next rom i will get will most likly be YS I+II. I understand there was a PC version of it but could not find it... the only thing i did find was the translation patch
