The Nintendo NX is supposed to be a Next Gen console with higher productivity and a better online system. It has also been hinted that the Developers are trying to get Rocket League on all systems. If you try and think like a big name company, it makes sense that you would want to include Nintendo and all of their fans in on Rocket League, currently, without the game being on the Wii U, that is a lot of money missing from those who buy only from Nintendo Consoles. What would be the benefits? Believe it or not, some people don't have a playstation 4, XBOX One, and don't have a strong enough computer to play games. Some gamers stick only with Nintendo and will be purchasing the NX come March next year. This accounts for a lot of sales, and a lot of sales means a lot of money. Also, Rocket League is aiming to have Cross Platform support for all of their platforms, which would mean adding it to Nintendo would mean more online players. The more overall players that you can get to play the game, the better for your company. Both Psyonix and Nintendo would want a big name title to come out on the NX to get the system rolling and to get more exposure.
