Ouch geo that was cold but it's too true. Forums are probably one of the hardest things to keep going. Its going to take a long time to get any decent traffic going.

One MAJOR thing that will kill your forum is the login page. If you are not able to see any of the forum without logging in then no one will know it exists except registered users, and that itself is another hard task to accomplish.
