On May 11, I was able to play Legend of Legaia without any problems. But today, I tried to play and kept getting a pop up from Avast saying that a threat was found with the download. The file source was from get_your_rom.com.

There should be no problem with Avast and get_your_rom.com.

The same thing happened to me yesterday when I booted up Tales of Phantasia(the PSX version). It had been working before then but yesterday I experienced this from Avast. I even tried it just now and Avast believes the file to be malware.

I worked around this by turning off some off some of the shields as well as the firewall for 10 minutes on Avast's active protection screen. You won't have protection for 10 minutes but at least you can load the game and continue to play it.

My only guess is that Avast recently updated and put said files on a blacklist of sorts believing them to be malware. Because before then the system has been working perfectly.

I think it might be an extra security measure they added since its a zip being loaded from another site.

You should see if you can add get-your-rom.com to the whitelist in Avast.
That should be in Settings > Web Shield > Exclusions > Add URL http://*get-your-rom.com/*
