I always set up the controller exactly the same way the original controller was set up. I look at my xbox 360 controller that I used to play on Vizzed with and mimic the button locations so they are the same. It is a bit confusing to look at my controller for the button names but the gameplay remains the way I remember it being when I played the game originally and how it is designed to be played originally.

I'm not going to go button by button but hopefully this explains how to do it enough that you can replicate that.
