I went to Easter services with my wife, who's a Lutheran.  I realize the specific brand of Christianity doesn't matter for the message that Jesus died, rose from the dead, and defeated Death.  Death was defeated.

So, here's the question:  If God is responsible for every aspect of our universe and life from start to finish, why is defeating death a big deal since God invented it in the first place?

Thanks for the well-informed answers.

Ghostbear1111 : Death is an unintended by-product of life. Death only exists because of an absence of life, which was made possible by Adam. Think of it this way, there is an absolute zero temperature. An absolute cold with no heat whatsoever. Yet with heat, it can rise as high as it wants. In the same way, death is like an absolute zero to our lives. Cold only exists when heat is taken away, and death only exists when life is taken away.  And only through Jesus do we get the gift of a life that will never be taken from us.

I wonder what the character limit on this thing is.
