Uhh... It depends on what type you are looking for. do you want an rpg, a... whatever pokemon rumble is... do you want it to be new? I would recommend Pokemon Mystery dungeon explorers of sky, because of nice, long gameplay and smooth... smoothness. and it's fun. But I also must recommend HeartGold and SoulSilver when they come out, because those are going to be awesome!

Yeah, I would wait for HeartGold and SoulSilver to come out, as they would probably last longer with all of the gameplay, or you would try Diamond or Pearl, they were pretty good. A lot has changed since the stone age that red and blue came from, and I was there to benefit from it!

I tend to agree with Shane, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky is a good RPG, and a good change from the normal Pokemon style.
If you want a 'gotta catch em all' Pokemon game then I say get one of the third version games like Emerald for GBA or Platinum for DS.
They are much better then the paired games because they have alot of extra Pokemon and features.

What might be best though is if you just try each one out here on Vizzed or get the roms from http://www.get-your-rom.com/
Play each one for 30 mins and see for yourself.

Yeah, I agree with DH and Shane. And if the last ones you played were Red/Blue, you might want to catch up, try the games for a little while, maybe even play through all the ones in the RGR. And definitely get HG/SS when they come out.

Play title from each generation available on 'vizzed', such as Pokemon Crystal, Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Emerald etc. I would not recommend playing any of the Mystery Dungeon titles as they are only fun for the die hard fans of the series. Other pokemon games you should avoid include Pokemon Pinball, Pokemon Snap etc. After you get up to date on the series, then I recommend that you buy one of the latest generation Pokemon games, which can be either Pokemon Diamond, Pokemon Pearl or the recent release, Pokemon Platinum. You may want to play some of the Pokemon games available on other consoles, I would personally recommend Pokeon Stadium 1 & 2. Anyway, hope you have fun.

Actually, Pinball and Snap are very good. I would only stay away from them if you are a diehard fan, same with the Mystery Dungeon. The die-hard fans are the ones who don't want pokemon to stray from the original formula of collecting/battling at all. I recommend Explorers of Sky.

If you want to get something that can easily connect with friends and do lots of stuff through wifi, then pick up HeartGold or SoulSilver! They came out today, and I plan on buying it. It doesn't just have RPG battles, it also has things like athletic competitions with your pokemon. That is what I recommend, you could probably get one at WalMart or gamestop.
