With the new Batman V Superman movie out, and even well before it came out, there have been dozens of discussions (if you want to call them that) about whether or not Ben Affleck would be, or is a good Batman.

So I've decided to put together a poll to decide who the true Batman is.I'm only counting those who got live action movies so sorry, no Kevin Conroy.Besides, if he was an option we all know who'd win. Also, no spoilers please, I guess it'd be okay for some of the older movies, but try not to unless you really have to.

For me, it's a tough call.I kinda like Adam West, if only for how hilarious seeing Batman do all the crazy stuff he dose in hindsight is, but Michael Keaton is pretty good too, but, a bit too killjoy for Batman for me.So all-round, for me, it's gonna have to be Bale. While I'm not a fan of his."fanboy on Youtube doing a passable imitation that he's gonna be feeling in the morning" voice.I'd have to say everything else is pretty spot-on in my opinion, so I'm going to have to give it to him.

I have to go with Val Kilmer.
I think he has the rich kid attitude down as Bruce Wayne and he has the Batman look when in costume.

Keaton's face was kinda squished into the mask and it made him look kinda weird...

Bale is gonna be most if not everyone's choice, so I have to be the one to fight for Val.

I personally really liked Keaton. He was the first batman after the TV Shows and made batman a dark character rather than the likeable goofy character that batman was. He was also the first batman I saw growing up.

I've liked most of the actors who played batman except for George Clooney. I thought all of them did a pretty good job.

Vanelan : I think Kilmer was pretty good, I just didn't think he nailed the Batman persona quite enough.Unfortunately it's usually either an actor's a good Bruce Wayne or a good Batman.

geeogree : I'd have to peg Keaton as my second choice. Also, I completely forgot about Clooney! But, for some reason, I can't edit the poll to add him in, but, it's not like he was really that popular.

Spidey243 : No need... no one srsly would choose Clooney... I think it's pretty much a consensus that he was the worst Batman.

I'm going to have to go with Adam West, only because he was the first one to actually bring the character to life. Had he failed, the show would've tanked and there might never have been a movie.

I'm going to go with Bale, because his Batman movies were mainly the only ones that I have seen enough to get a good opinion of the series and I liked them as well. I would say that Adam West is a close 2nd because I just love him as an actor.

Personally I picked Bale. But that's probably because I tend to favor the darker styles of the newer movies. And one of my all time favorite quotes is

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

Spidey243 :   Michael Keaton, by far, was the best of any of them.  Paired with Jack Nicholson, it was the best Batman by far.  Not the most graphically enticing, but that was one of the best parts about it.  All of these new ones have so many toys and vehicles that aren't actually there and just green screened.  I love Christian Bale and most of his work.  I'd have to say he would be my second...but a very distant second.  Pluto to the sun kind of distant, and the rest never even existed to me.  Why is Adam West not mentioned here by the way?  He was always the best anyway.  Val Kil..ing batman, nope.  What's his Clooney....NOPE...even though Armhold Musclehogger was in it...was crap

After seeing the new batman movie, ill have to change my views to that of Affleck. I hear most people didn't like him, but I loved the way he molded his attitude and personality, I felt it made the story much better the way he acted.

I haven't seen the Batman vs. Superman movie, but I actually do like Ben Affleck is some movies, he's not my vote for best batman though, as I haven't seen the movie. Did I mention that already?

Man, it is tough... I didn't like Bale's Batman voice at first, but then it started to grow on me, and it makes sense, you don't want people recognizing you... And even though Adam West's portrayal may not have entirely accurate, it was still a great show... But, I think I'd give it Keaton. So, even though I like the Bale Batman movies are better, I like Keaton's Batman the best.

I am a bit surprised that Keaton is the #1 right now. Although, I think it was a bit skewed because he did have one of the better movies to be cast as Batman in.
The villains weren't too cheesy, Keaton is a pretty good actor, and I am sure there is a little nostalgia factoring in there.

As for Bale's voice as Batman, if I'm not mistaken, it was digitally altered to be even deeper and more gravelly... so it made it sound a bit strange...

Vanelan : I guess even if you're a really good actor, if the movie you're in isn't good enough you just might be overshadowed by the underwhelmingness of  the movie itself. And here I thought the Micheal Keaton Batman movie was underrated.

Vanelan : I would have to imagine Bale's voice was at least somewhat digitally changed. I mean it would have tore his throat up doing take after take trying to talk like that. I can't do it more than a few minutes at a time without needing to stop for a good long while. I don't get why people hate on the voice so much. It's more intimidating than most of the other Batman's, which is obviously one of the aspects they were going for. Batman says himself he wants to strike fear in the hearts of wrongdoers. So would you be more scared of a deep gravely voice, or someone who whispers in your ear, if they're both equally strong and stealthy?
I also loved the Bale Batman's personality. He was a bit more ruthless than the other incarnations, which is a characteristic I believe Batman would have.

I know this is a bit off topic, but this subject always makes me think of the movie "Neighbors" when Seth and Zac are going back and forth like *whisper* "Batman sounds like this".. - *Bale voice* "No, Batman sounds like this." lol.

Mynamescox44 : I suppose it depends on what generation of Batman you are talking about.
Originally, Batman was known to kill people and the villains weren't petty pranksters who wouldn't hesitate to do the same.

Bale's character seems to be leaning to the more ruthless side that Batman originally had, but after years of being written as a vigilante with high moral standards, I guess they almost had to tone it down.
