True, but it would also be pretty much an international shock if Canada didn't win the sport that comprises of half their bloodstream (the other half if maple syrup ), and plus they had the home team advantage.

while that may be true... we did get 7th in 2006 so just because we are Canadians doesn't mean we just win at hockey.

no, it's not always Canada. The Olympics are hosted by different countries every year. Canada had this year. 2008 was China, 2006 was Italy, 2004 was.... somewhere else... I can't remember. But it moves all over the world.

That Hockey game yesterday was seriously one of the greatest sporting events I've ever seen and no one deserved that win more than Canada. If it wasn't for Miller, that game would've been over a lot sooner in my opinion.

This was definitely the greatest Winter Olympics I've ever watched, and I've been watching them for many years now. Just sad to see it over but I'm just glad I was able to watch all the big moments. The way this Olympics was presented and because of some of the athletes, it just made you feel like you knew some of them personally, some of the outcomes seemed like scripts taken from a movie, especially (as everyone has been saying) the Canadian Victory over USA.

The Olympics to me are bigger than the Super Bowl, so I definitely look forward to the next Summer.

So who else is pissed that USA lost in Hockey? I must say I thought we gave it a good shot. At least USA finish first in the medal count to bad we didn't finish first in gold medals though. All-in-all I'm very proud to be an American!!

I'm not pissed . I'm quite pleased at the result. The US lost to Canada twice in hockey... both men's and women's gold medal games were between the 2 countries and Canada won them both

Well USA men did beat Canada in the first game but I'm not pissed about the outcome, as I said in my previous post of this thread, no one deserved that win more than Canada.

Well, geeogree, the reason that you're not pissed is obviously that you're canadian. Although, myself a citizen of the USA, I am not mad either. I say that to be able to make it to the gold medal match in the Olympics is no mean feat, and they played very well. I'm not too big of a hockey fan, but I enjoyed watchign their game.

Hyper: you guys had the best team through the tournament... the only problem is that Canada was the only team that could score on Miller. He let in 8 goals in 7 games, 6 of which Canada got on him over 2 games. Miller was named tournament MVP though, which he deserves. He was the reason the US got the gold medal game. I don't think the rest of the team was that strong... but he put up a wall in front of that net and didn't allow much past it.

And it was an epic game to watch. I watched it with my parents and we were glued to it the entire time. We were sick when that goal went in with under 30 seconds left. And we went CRAZY when Crosby scored to win the game. I think it was the most fitting way to end the Olympics personally. And I think that game is going to go down as the most watched Sports event ever in Canada. I don't know too many people who weren't watching or listening to it somehow.

Yeah without Miller, USA wouldn't have made it nearly as far as they did. I really did feel bad for Miller when USA lost, you could tell he was really bummed out because he put an incredible amount of effort into that game, but still Canada deserved to win.

Seriously though, after watching that game, I might consider getting into Hockey more and I'm sure that's the same for anyone who wasn't already into Hockey that watched that game because that was just an amazing game for a once in a life time moment.

yeah... I'm excited for playoffs which are about a month away.

The only problem is that nhl teams aren't all stacked like that Each team has 2 or 3 players of the calibre that were seen on these teams. Still worth getting into though. Even to just enjoy the occasional game.

I hated the olympics. Oh well, at least as far as I know the United States are winning, and I think russia is in last place. I forgot who was in second and third.
