So, most people who like Harry Potter already know about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the play that had been in development for more than 3 years and officially confirmed last fall.

What most of the fans don't know is that less than two weeks ago, it had been confirmed that the play is going to be published as the official 8th novel of the series, and it's going to be published on July 31st of this year, the day after the play opens, on Harry's birthday.

I probably won't be able to see it, which is unfortunate. I can definitely say that I'm going to read the book, though. I'm just surprised that they're still making it, especially since it's been this long since the main series has been worked on.

Chart : I was never actually expecting an 8th book, however for the last year or so the director of some of the HP movies said he wanted to make more movies that leave off after Deathly Hallows part 2, so I was expecting something kind of like an unofficial thing, like if a movie had a fan fic, but this is so much better.
