I have two questions that I want to ask regarding uploading gameplay videos onto the Vizzed YouTube channel through the website.

1. I have noticed that there seems to be a time limit for how long a video can be uploaded from the site before it's cut off. I've noticed a few times that an upload would fail, with the only notice being that after the upload is "done", it reverts back to the page where you put in the video information, and not the page saying that the upload is successful. After testing it a while back, I have assumed that the limit is four hours. I don't have the best upload speed right now, and I have been wanting to upload HD gameplay videos for Xbox 360 and other games onto the VGR, but with that limit, I have to limit the video length of said videos to beat the limit. Is there any way that this limit can be lifted or extended? If not, that's fine, I can be able to work around it.

2. On a different note, I was just wondering if there is a limit to how many videos you can or should upload for any single game? I have uploaded a few videos to the same game before, in form of cutscene montages, but I was just wondering (for future reference) if there is a limit enforced, to avoid being accused of spam.

If anyone can answer either of these questions, I would appreciate it and I thank you in advance.

1)  I don't think there is a time limit to youtube videos, but I believe their size limit is 20GB.
If you are being kicked by to the information page, it would seem the issue is on your end.
I recently uploaded a 6+ hour video without an issue.

2) As long as you are creating unique content, what you are uploading should be fine. There isn't necessarily a limit, but there is a daily contribution points/Viz cap. So that might be something to consider if you want to get site credit for the videos you are uploading.

There shouldn't be a limit now, I used to always upload hour long videos and sometimes I did ones that were 2 hours or longer. No limit to your other question as long as it's not the same.

zanderlex : Do you mean there is no time limit or they removed the 20GB limit?
I mean... that is a big and long video... so I would think that still applies.

Vanelan : Well, there used to be a 15 minute limit but that was taken down a long time ago and I have no idea how much they would be so I wouldn't be able to know if it was a size limit or if they got close to it.

zanderlex : Okay.
That 20GB information was a bit dated, so I wasn't sure if you heard otherwise.

Just to elaborate, I'm just guessing when it comes to these limits, as these are what I assume they are after several failed attempts. Uploads for me seem to fail if they last longer than four hours, and because of that, I've tried to limit my videos to under 1GB, and so far I haven't tried uploading a video that's been longer than a hour. I have actually tried uploading a video last night that was slightly over 1GB, and it failed. Also, to add to what I said before, when the upload fails, it goes to the information screen and the URL has 'TOKEN_EXPIRED' tagged to the end of it.

DavidMcC1989 : My last upload was 3.17GB and it worked fine.
I do have fairly fast upload speeds though.

If it takes really long, youtube does time out...

Vanelan : Yeah, I was thinking that it was the time out that was affecting me. I have a slow upload, but I try to upload videos of good quality/length, but they seem to keep getting cut off if the upload takes longer than four hours.

DavidMcC1989 : Many times they time out because of sheer size. Many of these Gameplay videos can get rather large, which is why we usually suggest compressing them using a program like "Freemake" I use this software often and it really helps reduce the file size, yet still keeps great quality to the video.

You can find the information about that free program here - https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=53374

DavidMcC1989 : In addition to reducing the size by using freemake, you can also split the videos to make uploading more manageable rather than attempting to upload large videos or potentially sacrificing quality.

Vanelan :
Jordanv78 :

I can understand what you two are saying, but I've been trying things to try to bring down the file size but still be able to put up the video. I try to knock the quality down to 480p in longer videos and try to at least max out the file size at 1 GB, because that seems to be my limit with my connection. I actually have a few videos lined up for the same game that I was planning on uploading, but I think of this doesn't work, I might just split this video up and try it that way. I'm just wanting to know for sure what my limits are and what's causing this 'TOKEN_EXPIRED' thing to come up.

I'll just use my latest upload try as an example, the last video I've tried to upload was a video at 480p, with a duration of 55:21 and a file size of 1.02 GB, and my upload speed is currently below 0.5 MB a second. I've tried uploading it three times and I've had the 'TOKEN_EXPIRED' thing come up each time. It could either be the duration of the upload or the fact that the file is over 1 GB.

DavidMcC1989 : The program I recommended and referred that thread to, reduces the file size while still carrying great quality, without you having to do anything. Works especially well with "retro" games. I use it all the time and never have an issue.

That upload speed could be a problem with HD videos.
You either have to reduce the quality, split into shorter videos, or see if you can get faster upload speed somehow if you want to upload such large videos.
