Wait, how did we get on a discussion of creativity of new Pokemon? Mattman, make a thread about that if you want to rant. I'll take my Kanto/Johto pokemon, thank you. As for gender, how about this? Half the pokemon that have genders shouldn't. Seriously, how does gastly, or geodude, have a gender. And what about male sunflora? Flora is a feminine noun, Spanish for flower. How is that not female-only?!

Here's another creepy thing to think about. Try putting any form of feminine characteristics on an Onix or Steelix. o.o
Steelix is already pretty ugly, so a women one.... ewwww..

Female Gyrados isn't all that lovely and feminine either.

It's a pokémon. It isn't supposed to look exactly like the skinny sex objects they make females out to be in animés.

well there are pokemon that have different features as far as gender is concerned i cant think of any right now but i do know that a male kirlia and female kirlia both evolve into different pokemon. i also know that a male and female hippowdown are different colors

Nope. Gardevoir can still be a male. Even with Gallade, because Kirlia evolves into gallade by using the Dawn Stone, not by level. And besides, in R/S/E, there was no Gallade. All male kirlias evolved into gardevoir.

I don't know what they were thinking with all these strange gendered pokemon... perhaps they were trying to push a particular point of view?

On the subject of genderless pokemon with attract, it still works on other genderless pokemon. An asexual species seeks out asexual partners (plants can pollinate all other plants of that species, and so do bacteria and such; though this is rarer amongst animals).

Kind of makes you wonder, why in the world would a Pokemon, no matter what gender, want to have sex with a different kind of Pokemon. For example, can you imagine a Treeko having sex with a Gyrados. o.o Or a Sceptile having sex with a Magikarp?
