Recently I have been going through and watching a collection of the series run of "Perfect Strangers" that I had download from the web. Sad that this series has not made it to DvD (Never understood why it hasn't been released) I'm currently watching through Season 2 now.

Anyways, this is a classic show that I just loved growing up, and I still find it funny to this day. Certainly ranks right up with my favorite shows from my youth. Certainly has one of the most memorable opening "Jingles" of any Sitcom.

Listen to it here!

Many people from my generation best remember this show on ABC on "TGIF" Friday nights along with other classic shows from the era on ABC - Full House and Family Matters (Side note, family matters was a Spinoff show from Perfect Strangers)

The Show made it 8 seasons from 1986 to it's last Episode in 1993.

Starring Bronson Pinchot and Mark Linn-Baker playing as Cousin Balki, an immigrant who traveled to the US to live the "American Dream" and live with his unknowing "Cousin Larry" Comedy gold with this duo. A type of comedy that you really don't see much these days on TV. These two had great chemistry together. It's really hard to describe how well they work together. You just have to watch the show for yourself.

So have you seen this show before? What are your thoughts? What are some of your favorite memories from this show?

I grew up on this show (and many others from the late 80's and early 90's.) and I loved it. I also really enjoyed that (to my memory) it was a pretty clean show.

I haven't watched many episodes recently but I did enjoy it as a kid. I do remember the dentist episode. That one is a classic in my family.

geeogree : I'm glad that someone else on the site has fond memories of this show! It really is great. Too bad that it's not available for stream/DVD/BluRay for the younger generation to be exposed to it.

I've read that the reason it hasn't been released is due to high costs in music licensing, because of the many popular songs in a few episodes that Larry and Balki sing...which seems like a weird excuse, but whatever. I guess the main sticking point is that since it's actual songs they sing in an episode, it's hard to take them out.

LunarDarkness2 : It's no worries. I know a lot of you younger people haven't been exposed to it because it hasn't really been on repeats on cable/satellite and isn't available on DVD/Bluray/Digital at all because of various reasons. Sad really.

There were a bunch of episodes on Youtube awhile back, but they keep getting removed. I actually had to download the full series awhile back from someone that ripped them from various VHS recordings they had lol
