I am here to tell you guys of an encounter I had with a cybernetic spirit that lives on the Vizzed web site. For those of you who do not know, a cybernetic spirit, or cyber ghost, is a rare occurrence where a person is killed in a freak accident such as a lightning strike, and his or her soul becomes intertwined with the electrical pulses in the computer. They may either freely roam the Internet. Or they may stay in a certain website. This is the story of how I discovered Vizzed's Cyber-Ghost.
It was a cold evening in November. I was up late at night in my college room, trying to finish a video game. Nobody else had been playing the game for hours. I was all alone in the void of cyberspace. At around midnight another user appeared in the game chat. But there was something strange about this user. There were corrupted characters where the name should have been. And the small picture was a black square. The user left about a minute later. Then it came back. The characters on its user name were still corrupted but they were different somehow. As if the user had changed their user name. I decided to see if the user needed help with anything. So I wrote, "Hello. If there is anything you need help with, please let me know." And I pressed enter. Seconds after I posted the comment, the user left again. It came back. But this time the name was not corrupted. In fact, the name now said "Help Me!" What spooked me out was that there were now a pair of eyes staring at me in the black profile picture. They looked afraid. As if they wanted to escape. I gathered up the courage to ask "Why do you need help? What is wrong?" After a few moments the user name started moving across the screen very slowly. It literally came out of the game chat box. It did not stop until it reached the bottom right corner of my computer screen. It stopped over the speaker icon. All of a sudden, the game's music fuzzed out like a radio station. It started crackling. I could make out a robotic voice trying to say something. All I could make out were little syllables between periods of crackling. I got a headset with a microphone and plugged it in. The sound was loud, and I scared myself when I put the headphones over my ears. I turned on the microphone. I tried to talk to the user. I asked it who it was. It said its name was Martin. As I questioned him, and he told me about how he died and got stuck in cyberspace. He said that there are other cyber-ghosts that he knows. Some are good, and just act like guardians of the Internet. But some of them are evil. A group of cyber-ghosts banded together and work everyday to try to take revenge on humanity for they blame us for what happened to them. If you ever feel an eerie force and you know there is nothing in the main world, then there is a strong possibility that you are being watched, and stalked by a cyber-ghost. I tried to question the ghost more but it hurriedly whispered "I need to go now." And disappeared. I have never heard or seen Martin again since that night.
