Been trying to play a few commodore 64 games. Mostly Boulder Dash. I do have a controller but id settle for using the keyboard. No clue how to launch the game once i am on the title screen of the game. Input from the pc controller does nothing... hitting f3 lets me choose 1 or 2 players. nothing else does anything

GOTHwarCHILD : Commodore 64 emulation is a bit... involved, since some games require different ports and such.
Its not too difficult to get working in most cases though.
I am going to use Professional Boulder Dash as an example.
Click and start up the game and stay on this screen:

Next, press tab to get this menu:

Select slot devices and press enter:

In the next menu, you are going to notice joy1 and joy2 (joy2 selected by default):

We need to change that to joystick port 1, so scroll down to joy1 and press the right arrow to set it to joy and down to joy2, pressing left to turn it off (or ------) :

Last, we want to apply our new controller settings. Select Reset and press enter:

That should bring you back to the READY screen.
Type RUN to start the game and select 1 Player 1 Joystick and pressing button 1 on your joystick should start up the game.

Let me know if it works, doesn't work, you find a better way...
Either way, reply and let me know if its working.

Thanks for the tip. This did work for Boulder Dash. While trying to test this method out on other games I did come across another problem. When trying to play Blue max and Manic Miner for the commodore. To start the game requires me to press runstop Key. The default key is set to Home. This does not do anything though. I have change the key set to run stop to a few others both on the keyboard and joy1 but runstop does not respond and start the game.

Ah yes... unfortunately I am aware of that problem but I don't have a solution.
The only thing we can do for that is request that another version is uploaded that doesn't require us to do that.

Can you provide links to these games?

GOTHwarCHILD : Can you copy and paste the links from the game's page to this thread though?
It makes it a bit easier if we are looking at the exact same game/page you are.
