I hate being ignorant. If I don't know anything I must know about it. So here's what's going on:

I've been pretty much debating all day about the right of the Federal Court to prohibit recordings and broadcasting in the courtroom. I'm aware that they may stop you at the door but, as to my knowledge, they have no legal right to do that in Civil cases just criminal trial cases. So far no one has provided proof against my claim and I'm curious as to if there even is proof against it. I have got a lot of "you fool", "the judges say this/that", and "prove it or shut up" (which I think I did proof my argument), but nothing concrete.

The only law that I know of that states prohibition and it is a Criminal trial law.

I beseech anyone who knows their stuff to correct me if I'm wrong about my claim on having the right to record or Broadcast in Federal Civil Cases by referring to me any law or Supreme court ruling.

Thanks in advance for the help.

According to General Order 58, you are not allowed to record any type of proceeding.
Here is the excerpt from the General Order stating so:

III. Policy of the Judicial Conference of the United States prohibits, in both civil and criminal cases in
all district courts, broadcasting, televising, recording, or photographing courtroom proceedings
for the purpose of public dissemination, subject to strictly-defined exceptions such as the
Cameras in Courts pilot which concluded July 18, 2015.

If you would like to further read General Order 58, you can find it here, although you can read what I believe is the only relevant information above:

Vanelan :

Ok, laws can be crazy sometimes. I must have missed that ruling. They say that no citizen can claim to be ignorant of the the law but it is darn hard to keep up. But that makes so much since now that the state has the power to over rule, since it's a JC decision and not an actual law. Not saying that the JC is not the law!

Thanks for helping me out with this one!

WandererExiled : There are so many exceptions as well, so they make things even more confusing.
Not to mention, each jurisdiction has its own rules, its almost impossible to know what is and isn't allowed without asking an attorney that practices in a particular court or a judge that sits in that court.
