Type A and Type B are just two different songs to listen to while playing. Usually, Type A is the classic Tetris tune, but I wouldn't know for the GB version without checking (I've only ever played the GBC version).

The song you are all talking about is called Korobeiniki, a russian folk song.
The only explanation I can think of as to why it's different is because it is a different ROM maybe. That's all I can think of.

EDIT: before the mods explode at me for bumping I felt like it was necessary to bump it. So yeah.
