I have been looking into getting a new console but I am not sure which one to get.  As the title suggests I am looking at either an xbox one or a ps4 (sorry nintendo fans).  My friend has an xbox one so I've been leaning towards that only because I'd be able to play online with him.  The ps4 does look to have some pretty awesome games though.  Anyone have any good suggestions or preferences?

Oh Oh! I think you should get a ps4. I have always been a ps3/playstation fan all together though never played xbox. I still don't have a ps4 but I want one so bad. Good Luck On deciding I do think ps4 would be the better choice though

Just know that you will have to pay a lot to play online with your friend, I think its like $60 a year.

Id go with the ps4, which I what I did because it has better games, easier to use, plus it has things like psn, Ps plus, and Sony rewards.

Bloodborne which is already out is one of my most played games on the system, and if you get a Ps4, you can get excited for Nier 2, as well as some other great titles, oh, and you'll love the controller.

Haha it seems like everyone is for the ps4.  I was leaning towards playstation anyways.  They do seem to have some pretty awesome games coming out.  The only thing that makes me hesitate is xbox has backwards compatibility which is pretty amazing.  But at the moment, definitely leaning towards ps4.  Thanks for the input everyone!

Xbox One will just receive the same games on it as PS4 would except that they will be less popular.
PS4 will have some gems on the system (Killzone, Gran Turismo etc) so yeah.

If you want to go from a Hardware standpoint, the PS4 is heads and shoulders above the rest when talking about power "under the hood" this will help keep your PS4 at the top of the console wars specs wise until you look to buy a new console. Although since the console is recently new, you can only see minor graphic differences, the more that time goes on the better that developers will get with making games on the ps4 and unlocking it's potential.

Or you could just go the ultimate route, and buy a decent gaming computer that would blow them all out of the water ;-)

I'm a little biased on this subject, but, I'd definitely go with PS4.I've lost all confidence in Microsoft what with all their lying about the Xbox one on release and I've always been a Sony fan.So I'd definitely go with the PS4.

I bought a PS4, and I'm really enjoying it. It's small and light, has user-friendly menus, a fun trophy system showing the percentage of players who also unlocked them for bragging rights, and the PS4 has some great exclusive that are available now.

One thing I do have to warn you for, is the short battery life for its controller. Luckily, this generation the PS4 comes with a charge cable you can just hook to your console so you can keep playing, so you never have to buy new batteries, but the cable is short, so you'll probably need sitting closer to the tv while playing. Pet peeve of mine.
