Can I say a satellite phone, a GPS beacon, water, fire-making tools, a shelter like a cabin, and plenty of supplies for hunting and fishing and collecting water?

Those things.


And if I could have the basic creature comforts like warmth, food, water, and shelter, and a friend, I might not need to get rescued.  Who wouldn't want to live on their own private beach?

I would say a great multitool,a machete,a gun with lot of ammo (hey I might need that!),a ton of duct tape,a big magnesium bar,a how to guide,and a female version of MacGyver.

You mean to tell me I would never have to deal with society again?  Where do I sign up?  I would bring a large knife, like my machete or bowie knife, a magnifying glass and or a Ziploc plastic baggy to make fire from the sun.  If you fill up the plastic baggy with a clear liquid, like water or urine, it will act like a magnifying glass as well.  A book that I would never get tired of reading, like Legend of Huma from Dragon Lance.  I can honestly say I would not miss my electronics at all.  I guess maybe a compass would help depending on the size of the island.  I would want my parachord grenade that has a hundred feet of parachord, fishing line, sinkers and hooks as well, and the size of my fist.
