Last night it was reported that VTech, one of the largest electronics manufacturers in the world had been hacked earlier in the month. On November 14th, an unauthorized party accessed the customer data in their app store and made off with the personal information of aprroixmatley 5 million parents and nearly a quarter million children.

According to VTech, they do not store info such as ID's, Social Security cards, and Credit card info, but info such as names and birthdays of the children, and a bit more of the parents have been compromised.

zanderlex : This is pretty unfortunate. Thankfully, they don't store really important information like the examples you just said, but names and birthdays of children is no menial fact. They can still find a lot out with the name of kids and their birthdays. Hopefully, attacks like this don't happen anymore.
