I was wondering if there was anyone else who had a special videogame they go to play when they're upset about something, depressed, or just need to relax. I always go to Morrowind. It's my favorite game, and the music and atmosphere make me forget my problems almost instantly. Usually when I'm playing it, the rest of the world just kinda fades away and I melt into it. I can spend countless hours on it doing basically nothing and when I was really depressed earlier this year, I used it to help with escaping.

Anyone else have a game like that?

Oddly enough that games The Legend of Zelda. I'm currently taking a break from A Link Between Worlds, and playing pokemon, and can soundly say that I'm more in a zen state when playing a Zelda title. Maybe it's because my gaming career started with an NES and Super Mario 1 and Zelda 1? One never knows...

manicman66 : I agree with you. Zelda games are oddly calming. Right now I'm playing through Wind Waker. I love all the cartoon graphics and the peacefulness of the game's villages.

Most therapeutic game in my opinion is Minecraft. Whenever I feel down or just too much going on, I play it on my Xbox One and just venture out. I usually tend to play according to my emotions. If I'm stressed out chances are I'm not building much of a shelter but, rather surviving in the Jungle. If angry, I'm going after every creeper. If I'm mellow I just build a boat and go fishing lol. Either way Minecraft just seems to occupy my mind and before I know it time just flew by.

I wouldn't say that I have a specific game that I play when I need cheering up...but I will say that If I'm really depressed or sick and need some time to myself, I always find myself playing retro games. That always is a good bet to cheer me up.

I find that crafting games such as Starbound, Terraria, and Minecraft work for me....but also seem to make the time go by way too fast.
I start playing at 5pm and before I know it, its 2am. :V

Defiently a building or sim game, whether it's Minecraft, Sim City, The Sims, Roller Coaster Tycoon, etc. Being able to build something and get into it always gets your mind off of things, and if you really need to let out some anger or something, you could always build something and then blow it up with TNT or ruin the lives of the other characters however you want and it will usually make you happy and calm.

For some odd reason, Bullet Heaven 2 is does that for me. It really clears my mind and makes me intently focus on dodging the bullets. The great music, colorful graphics and dialogue all just put me in a better mood after playing it for awhile.
