For old school I'd go with Mario. The Mario games were more fun to play than the Sonic ones, and I've never really been much of a Sonic fan anyways.

If you want to make threads though maybe add your opinion and an argument to what old school game you like better.. Threads are better and more meaningful when you can ultimately discuss whats going on in them as opposed to just asking a meaningless question like

I prefer the old school mario games, because I felt like they gave a harder challenge to the player.. I really enjoyed Sonic, but the old school mario games were some of the hardest for me and kept me playing and playing and playing..
