Welp I probably wont be able to be on much for a while thanks to the stupidity of the library. I had another month on my internet box left because I renewed it the day before it was due about a week ago but for some reason my card decided to expire the very next day, without even a warning or anything. It would have been nice if they told me a few days in advance but literally the only thing they sent me was an email saying the box was due.

I went to the library today to renew it which wasn't a problem but apparently the card expiring caused that last renewal to completely be used up meaning that the box ended up using the same due date and just cancelled that renewal. Heck, I have proof that I renewed it the day before it was due, and even one of the workers said it was strange, because after you have it for a month, you get to renew it for another month 3 more times. Yet it says I only had it for 3 months and used up all 4 months which in itself makes no sense.

So I had to return it and they said once more comes in I can take it out again since there might be people who want that one. (or I could just do what I do last time I used up all the renewals and take one out from a different library.)

But guess what? They decide to charge me for a late renewal, AND for bringing it in overdue. They charged me $25 even though there's proof that I renewed it in time, and even though having the card expire caused it to be overdue, they should have told me that the card was expired instead of having me find out about it on my own days later. In addition to those fees, there's a charge for renewing the card, so all in all, I need to pay about $15 before I'm even allowed to use the card in general and it's 100% their fault.

If the card was going to expire the day after I renewed the box, they shouldn't have even allowed me to renew the box in the 1st place or at least tell me to come in to renew the card.

I've been with this place for about 7 years now and this is the dumbest thing they have ever done.

I hate when organizations or companies let the rules get in the way of providing good customer service. I understand why the rules are in place a lot of the time but making exceptions for people who aren't trying to scam the system should happen. Rules are not set in stone and unchangeable. There are always a way around things like that. However, quite often you get stuck with random employee who is just "doing their job" or "following the rules" and not actually using their brain.

They even said I could renew it but then once they saw the screen they said I couldn't. Before even looking at the screen they said I could, but there was literally nothing there that said I shouldn't be able to take it out. If there were any rules, they weren't following any of them.
