... F. Starr and Seriously? here...

So, I was able to log on, for, like, 1 minute, then I got kicked out of my Seriously? account. And, of course, the Password Recovery thing still isn't working... I did everything again (clear cookies etc...), and still nothing... So, uh... I think I'll wait for David to reset my password for my main account, but if that doesn't work... I'm probably done. This is just ridiculous, at this point, no offense to the mods and creators.

Like, I have done nothing different, always logging in with Firefox (after I created Seriously?), and had no problems, until right now. I cannot even fathom what the problem is, at this point. Other than somehow my passwords keep changing, for no reason... So... Ugh.

I'm going to give it, like, a week, and if I still can't log on, I'm probably just going to... Stop. Love all you guys, but this is just insanity.

Really? Again? : Sorry to hear about the problems you are having. I can understand your frustration. Not sure how you keep getting locked out, although like I mentioned before, I would stop trying the password recovery stuff, since I'm pretty sure it doesn't work.

I know exactly what your going through. This has happened to me in the beginning of last month. When tRIUNE gave the okay for me to be hired for a Site Staff position I was locked out of my account that same day. I logged out but when I tried to sign back in I just couldn't. My password was somehow changed. I don't know how this happened, I assumed that someone hacked my account at first. But I often checked my profile as a guest and saw that my username hasn't been online since the last time I logged out.

I tried the Password Recovery option many times but it never worked. Nothing was sent to my email. I got frustrated so I ended up reporting the issue and thankfully I was able to log into my account 6 days later. David sent me a new password to use so that's how I was able to log back in. I have no idea why we were kicked out of our accounts but I'm hopping this issue doesn't continue to happen to us or anyone else. Something like this could become a huge problem if this happened to a lot of users at once.

Really? Again? : I have to ask... when you say you did nothing different, did that mean you have been using the same password or similar password for your original account and the rereg?
If you are, someone must know it and could be changing it...
Alternatively, if you are logging in with a shared computer, it's not very hard for someone to come and change your password.

Vanelan : Nope, all my passwords are different. Also, I don't save passwords, so I type them in each time. I also don't share this computer with others.

I guess I'm kinda confused on why this keeps happening to you specifically. I mean I occasionally hear people having issues logging into older accounts when they have been inactive for awhile, or just random issues, but I find it strange that you are the only one that keeps having this issue since no one else seems to be currently.

Are they similar in any way?
If you are using a different password that is similar, you might as well repeat the password.
(IE: Password, Passw0rd, P4ssword, etc.)

Jordanv78 :    I'm just lucky, I guess.

Vanelan :   Nope, not even remotely similar in any way. All completely different.

Really? Again? : It's time for a virus and malware scan.
There is no way it can happen to you twice on the same computer unless there is a keylogger or someone else uses the computer and messes with your passwords.

Vanelan : I've done a scan sometime last week, repaired some stuff, so I doubt it's that. I'm pretty sure I don't have any keylogger software, or any reason as to why someone else would install some. And there is another person who uses this computer, but they don't visit vizzed, any they also don't mess with people's passwords. Also, they would have no way of knowing what my password was, because I don't save passwords, I type them out each time, and I also don't write them down anywhere... So, I still don't know what the problem is...

I think I'm just going to wait until they fix the password recovery thing... Even though I've heard they've had this problem for years... So... Ugh.

Your best bet is to wait for David to reset it.
You might be waiting a long time for the password reset feature to be operational. ^^;

Also, with a key logger, you never know what it could have been attached to.

If I might ask, what virus scanner do you use?

I'm not trying to be difficult or anything, but this issue has to be something specific to your environment or someone else messing with your logins.

Even though I've seen weird things in my 5+ years on this site, I've never seen anything quite like this. Especially happening to the same person in such a short period of time, while also being the only person to have the problem. I just wish we could figure out what it is that's causing it lol.

My guess would be one of those "safe browsing" programs that cheaper anti-virus programs like Norton install on peoples browsers.

I know exactly what your going through. I was kicked out of my account once. It lasted for about a month or two. I made an another account to post about it, but I couldn't log into that account either. So like I said it lasted a while, so I'm only assuming you have to give it some time before you're able to log in again. Although that might not be the case, I'm just assuming because that's how it worked for me, so good luck .

I am of the same opinion as Jordan here...there has to be someone messing with you...
It just seems too much of a coincidence that it happened to you twice already and so soon after each other.

If you have never walked away from your computer with a chance that someone else could have used it really quickly to change the password, its time for another virus scan...perhaps you need to go a boot time scan and restart...
