Every time I record a video on Mednafen, the recording timer will randomly reset to 1 sec. (the timer counts up, BTW). Yep, this has happened to me often, esp. on TEKKEN 2. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? My recording future's at stake here, BTW.

wormelytyrese : I guess I'm confused about what you mean "randomly resetting to 1 sec" So are you saying that the counter resets, even though you haven't stopped the recording?

Have you tested the file after stopping the recording to see if it properly recorded or not?

A lot of users have an issue where they close out of the Plugin window before stopping the recording. The issue here is that if you don't stop the recording in the plugin first, the file will never finish creating and thus will be broken.

I have had the same issue at times. It usually happens when my Internet connection is slow and the recording does not seem to be starting. My advice would be to make sure (if you do not have high-speed Internet) that other users on the network do not make a high usage of bandwidth. Also wait for a few seconds to make sure the recording has effectively started before doing the core of your recording. You can always edit it later with Freemake to cut those extra few seconds.

Jordanv78 :   The same thing happened to me tonight. My recording timer reset maybe three or four times. I probably would've freaked out too if I hadn't already seen this gnarly thread Ty made.

When I finished recording and checked my video file, it was all in one piece exactly as I had played it. I checked it before converting and there were no breaks or interruptions. I guess it was sending the recorded stuff to the file on my drive in waves during the recording. That seems the best way to do it. I don't sense any real problem.

wormelytyrese :   Ty, it's all good. Nothing is at stake. Keep recording as usual. The only potential mishap you might run into as a result of the reset is that you might lose track of how long your video is and make one longer or shorter than you want. An external timer may help you.

Also, what Jordan said about clicking stop at the bottom before closing the window is important. I closed a window while recording last year and the file went kaput.

I'm not sure if this is the case, but these files get really big.
The emulator's recording features may be splitting the files so they don't exceed the max file size.
