A few days ago, Couter-Strike: Global Offensive broke records by becoming the most played Steam game ever by having more than 10.7 million gamers play at once which had barely broken the previous record of 10 million which had been set a few months ago.

CS:GO does seem to be the kind of game that could garner this kind of a fan base though so its not a surprise, but do you see a pattern by the most played steam games in which number 2 and 3 are taken by Team Fortress 2 and Dota 2? Notice anything?

no.... most played would imply it has been played more times than any other game.

What you posted about was most users playing simultaneously which is completely different. One is in the past (which is your current title) and what actually happened would need to be in the present.

Vanelan : CS, dota 2, and TF are all devloped by the same company. The 3 biggest games in Steam history were all made by Valve, the creators of Steam, so that's definitely a pattern.
