I've never liked Barbies, but I'm an adult and I do collect Monster High dolls and the odd Ever After High doll. I only have about 30 or so, so my doll collection isn't really big. The bulk of my collection (a few hundred figures/statues and approx. 1000 comics) are things that most people think only boys collect: Marvel figures, WWE figures, comics and movie/TV/video game memorabilia. People are always surprised to learn that I collect things like that because of my age and gender. My "Woman Cave" is my room where I keep all of my collectibles.

And for the record, my Aunt who is in her forties, collects Barbies. lol I think the most she's ever spent on one was something like $350, but I've never actually seen the doll, so I can't tell you how detailed it was or anything like that.

Fishergirl7 : Well, props to you! It's really rare to hear of someone who has collected dolls and action figures/memorabilia.As for me, the biggest collection of anything that I have is my 2015 Bionicle collection, which I share with my brother that we keep on a small shelf in our room(such is my life). And also I guessmy small collection of Hot-Wheels Batmobiles sorta counts.

Nope I don't do dolls as it breaks. But I do teddy bears. I still need to add mlp to my collection. I'm going to get a sailor moon plushy as a Christmas present from my cousin so I'm all good on that. I never liked dolls in the first place I was more of a teddy bear person. Because I can get to cuddle it. I don't really care that I am 24 years. I still have a baby face meaning I am still a child in a way. I often look out for an eye that would be my price procession to keep forever. I keep my bears on my bed and sleep with them which makes me happy. ^^

Eniitan : That's great. My little brother used to do that to, he doesn't anymore though.I know some people would frown on something like that.As if, if you want to collect something it has to be something everybody else dose, or that's not "seriously" collecting anything.I, for one, believe you can collect whatever you want, there are no rules as to what you can and can't have,

It's just about amassing a collection of something you feel passionate about. For me, that's getting back the old Transformers Cybertron collection I had as a kid, because, being a kid, I broke most of them. But, there's just something about them that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. So, someday I hope to have all of them again, and not breaking them this time would be nice

If they didn't still buy them, there wouldn't be commercials on Nickelodeon for them every five seconds. All of the annoying bronies love the MLP stuff, though.

Spidey243 : Well, they annoy me, by and large. Not all Bronies are bad, but enough of them are just the most insufferable people you could ever come across.

Eniitan : Cool!If I start collecting any line of figures or anything like that really, I'm always tempted to buy on of the bigger ones. Not because I really need it, but, because it's awesome to have a huge one on my shelf.

Every time I go to Walmart, I'm sorely tempted to buy one of those giant 12 inch Star Wars figures!

Spidey243 : well stated
it's the same for gaming, too, people get judged if they don't play the multiplayer on COD, don't have a certain console, don't watch some popular IDIOT on youtube or other such things.

however it differs between gender as you say, with boys it's much more common, for some reason

I got a huge storage full of horse dolls, model cars, dresses; skirts; and high heels (yes the kind you wear and they are mine), archery set, Books (tons and tons of books and they are about split between fantasy and romance). I got art supplies (enough to run an entire art fair). I got a lot of cable wires and enough to create a 50 tv entertainment system with surround sound using regular radios (I did that once just to do it). I got a girlie wig. About 5 boxes of pantyhose (and other girlie items).

Lets see... Oh I got everything I need to go work on a ranch... Oh yea! I have quite a few collectible toys from 1945-2006 of dollhouse accessories.  I got about 20 porcelain dolls . A violin, flute, guitar and... I'll just leave it that I got a lot of stuff in that storage and most of it girlie or girlie in perspective.

Rulers may think they control the world... but it is really the person who has nothing but thier virtues that do!

Spidey243 :

XD I actually bought a lot of stuff for all the girls in my life (I was usually the only guy around), but when my gifts were rejected or they couldn't hold on to it I ended up keeping it. That plus my name is feminine so I use to get girlie stuff for Birthdays and such from sponsors. Hence, ALL the girl clothes.

I kind of do like to let ladies dress me up in dresses and makeup because I find it oddly fun to look cute but more in a cosplay kind of way not in the drag queen way. If that makes any sense.
