So, I'm going to be potentially choosing a new layout soon... a special one. But I'm busy and don't want to make one from scratch. So, what's the logical thing to do...?

Outsource it to you guys!

I'm going to be needing a new layout and I have specific parameters it needs to fill in order for me to use it.

So here are the requirements for submission:

1. The layout must follow a certain theme, the theme for this layout is "Survivor: Cambodia" (Or Second Chance, as it were, yes, I'm a huge fan of Survivor).
2. I cannot stress rule #1 enough, it needs to be that season exactly.
3. The layouts need to be submitted to THIS thread, via your post (as in, you must make a post with that layout in this thread, so I can judge it).
4. It must be submitted before September 22nd, 2015 at the end of the day, board time (You have 1 week!)

That's really it for rules of making it. I want you to be creative, and research the material yourself. It will allow your own creativity to shine through, as well as teach anyone who undergoes this challenge how to be more resourceful.

As for the rules of judging, so you know what I'm looking out for.

1. You will be judged on accuracy, quality, and ingenuity.
2. On the subject of accuracy, you need to know what the material is, don't just sloppily put a picture of Bob from Survivor: Gabon on the layout for no reason, he's not on Survivor: Cambodia, so his presence is unneeded. In that same grain, you shouldn't show a picture of the Palau Tiga beaches, because again, that has next to nothing to do with this season.
3. On the subject of quality, it's all about the presentation. If you used an image, is the picture crystal clear? The grainier it looks, in general, the worse you will score, unless it is by design (and it makes sense of course). And if you don't use images, is the background a solid color? Is the text box situated in a way in which the text is viewable? Consider this a test of whether the layout is suitable for Vizzed in general.
4. On the subject of ingenuity, is your piece creative and original? Did you do something that took longer than 10 seconds to put together? Did you create something that stands apart from the rest of the layouts on Vizzed? This is all about making it look the best it can.

Any questions can be directed to me via PM.

Now, for prizes, because of course you want a prize.

Well there's this:

1. I will be using the layout that wins as my primary layout from September 23rd, until the Survivor: Cambodia finale (which should be in December) and some people actually think that's a prize. If you are one of those people, you are in luck.
2. You will be given the chance to showcase your skills for future buyers of layouts.
3. But most importantly, you will get between 20-50k Viz for winning the competition, depending on the quality of the layout and how much competition there was. The more competition, the more likely it is you will score big. There may even be consolation prizes for those in second.

The winner will be contacted in some way and told to send the layout to me. Simple enough?

And obviously if no one takes the challenge, I'll have to make a cookie cutter layout on my own at a later date. Which would suck for me.

Leave it to leggy to find a loophole in the rules.
I typically don't like threads requesting layouts, but since you made it a contest you are making me leave it open!

Good luck to you and all the entrants.

Vanelan :

Unfortunately, this can be closed

No one responded by the date of the premier (which was almost exactly a month ago), so I ended up making my own (it's my current layout. I would have liked something more elaborate, but it'll do).

So this can be closed!
