With the start of the school year, I really haven't been active at all, only ever bothering to check in on Vizzed a couple of times a day. In large part this is attributable to the sudden start of school once more, but even more important in that is how I've been preparing for what is so incessantly hailed as the greatest time I'll have in high school.
But before I get to that, I'll give a run-down of my courses this semester and what's happened with them thus far.
1st Period: Business. Easily the most boring class out of the four. So far all we've done is copy definitions out of a textbook with no plans to do anything else in the near future. At least I have some close friends here.
2nd Period: Gym. The interesting thing about this class is that our teacher runs it as kind of a mini-league. We have teams and with them GM's, Captains, etc. Since gym is not mandatory in Grade 10, most of the guys who take it this time around are the "tough" ones. That hasn't diminished it's appeal in my eyes, though. My team is the Idaho Orcas (really sounds like a sports team, eh?) and in sports I usually play goaltender since that's what I'm best at. We've gone through a mini soccer tournament in which we placed first (YEAH.).
After Gym it's lunch time, during which I walk back to my condo and have myself a sandwich and chill out for half an hour, then head back to school.
3rd Period: English (alternates with Math every other day). Last year my English teacher was an extraordinarily unpleasant woman, so the fact I had someone new this time around was a huge relief. Thus far this new teacher has proven to be a very chill guy. We did an exercise where we asked people around the class some questions and presented the answers to the class. I did it with my best friend.
4th Period: Math. I have the same young, somewhat eccentric teacher I had last year (who has an uncanny resemblance to Jesus, I swear). He's a great teacher and I'm happy to have him again. Even better is that about half of the class consists of good friends of mine. Right now it's not very exciting but that will change, of course.
Now then, about that thing.
It's a camp. No, that's really it. It's located a few hours north and stresses a focus on liberty and the freedom to do whatever you want. I go with about 90% of Grade 10. I've heard nothing but good things about it and I'm certain I'll have a great time, but that spiel about "the best time I'll have in high school" has me curious if they're telling the truth. If they are, then OH BOY IT'S ALL DOWNHILL FROM HERE (JK, I hope).
I'll be at the camp from the 15th (tomorrow) to the afternoon of the 18th. After this, I'll have to get used to being back at home for a tiny bit but afterwards I'll get back to activeness. I'll update this thread (with pics) for your reading pleasure.
I don't know how to end this.
