Don't get me wrong, I liked Brick Mansions, Paul Walkers' acting was great and all of the little action scenes were so intense, but there was something missing throughout the movie, a story that made sense. If you have seen the movie, then you should be able to see what I'm getting at here, that the idea of the movie literally makes no sense once you start thinking about it.

First you need to know what the movie is about, it's about Brick Mansions, kind of a beat up neighborhood that nobody likes. Apparently, a master criminal from Brick Mansions hijacks a government vehicle and steal a case, but it turns out to be a bomb that they activate once opening. The government sends Paul Walkers character into Brick Mansions with a code to disarm the bomb and this is where everything goes wrong.

The criminal puts the bomb on a rocket and threatens to launch it at Detroit if he doesn't get paid, but after a whole lot of fighting, he realizes that it isn't worth it and allows Walker to put the code in to s*** off the bomb with like a minute left. Here's the problem, the code actually happens to be the zip code for Brick Mansions, and after more fighting, everybody agrees it will be bed to let the bomb explode there instead of blowing up the entire neighborhood, which it doesn't happen after the countdown.

They end up getting a confession from the mayor, they planned on the guy stealing the bomb, so Walker can go in and set up the bomb himself without knowing it, but how does that even make any sense?

Here is the rant.

The government guys gave Walker a zip code to put into a motionless bomb, even if all the action and suspense things never happened, Walker would have gone up to the bomb, put in the code, and nothing would have happened, because how would the bomb have been launched? This idea ONLY makes sense because the criminal had a rocket, but if he did not, then Walker would have put the code in and nothing would have happened, literally.

Are you telling me that the government already knew that the criminal owned a rocket? On top of that are you saying they already guessed he was planning on putting the rocket on the bomb? There is no way they could have known, and that is the only way that the zip code could have made the bomb move. Not only that, if they knew he had a bomb and had it on the rocket, they knew he was going to send the bomb somewhere which means that if Walker failed, he would have destroyed Detroit.

Not just that, but putting the zip code into the bomb wouldn't have done anything either, because even if the bomb was on the rocket, putting the code into the bomb isn't going to tell the rocket where to go.

So the government knew the criminal had a rocket and that they attaches the bomb to it, they knew the rocket had some sort of control panel so the code could actually be put in, they knew that the rocket was compatible, which means that the rocket was capable of taking zip codes and launching to them, they knew that Walker would put the code into the rocket, instead of the bomb where they told him to, and they knew that if Walker failed, the criminal would launch the rocket into Detroit, and even if the bomb wouldn't have been active, that's a live rocket hitting a major city.

There's no way any of that could have been known or planned.
