I've gotten to try this mod/hack a bit and I've been having a blast with it. Getting to play an old classic game that has many fans enjoying the but it also being made using sprites from a TV series that [at least large] group of people have come to enjoy makes a good combo as the two in a way seem to blend together and giving who are sometimes seen as background or secondary characters being given the spot light really brings out a sense of joy that people can enjoy.
