Does anybody have any idea why I was able to purchase Ys 4 English Translation and start playing it, but whenever I try to reload it so I can continue, the emulator immediately goes to "emulator closed"?

I even sold it and re-purchased it and it still won't work.
Just for kicks, I purchased Ys Book I & II, and it loads every time.
Every other game I've tried also works fine.
Ys 4 English only worked one time.

I've tried with Firefox, Pale Moon, Internet Explorer, and Opera.

Assistance would be appreciated.

UPDATE:
It's one day after I downloaded Ys Book I & II, and now it is having the same problem. I even tried deleting the .bin, .cue, and .zip files from my computer and re-downloading the title, but as soon as it downloaded, the emulator closed.

In my Plugin Log file, I found the following error:

In the folder mentioned, I only find a .cue and a .iso file. I'm unfamiliar with the .sbi extension.

In my EmuStdOutput file, I have this error:
Error reading from opened file "C:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPluginUser-520617Mednafen_newsavYs_Book_1_and_2_-_Ancient_Ys_Vanished_(NTSC-U)_[TGXCD1002].19afebaa65477f9de7d4d8c50a342358.sav": Unexpected EOF

P.S. I'm not sure how to get the board to not automatically convert text into emojis. In the first error, that's supposed to be a right-parenthesis followed by a colon...

I was able to download YS IV, close and reopen it, but then after saving and closing and attempting to reopen the game, it crashed immediately for me as well.

I'll have to do more research into this before I can attempt to give you a solution.

Have you tried deleting that .sav file for YS 1 & 2?

Ah, that did the trick.  I was hoping not to have to do that, but I guess I can just use passwords this time through. Or possibly save states.

There might be an updated translation.
I'll talk to the RGR staff and see what version was added.

Lassiter : I saw those in my logs as well.
I found the English translation for YS4 but in the batch file, there doesn't seem to be anything about creating an sbi file.
That leads me to believe the translation on vizzed might be dated.
Unfortunately, its not as easy as just replacing a file. The plugin checks the files to make sure they are the same file size/checksum.
I'll attempt to run it on my pc and see if I get the same results. At that point, if it does work, I can then request it be updated accordingly.

As for the emotes, I don't know how to not use them...sorry.

The .sbi is only used for PlayStation (since the plugin is also using mednafen for psx). What the file is used for is to overwrite the LibCrypt protection of certain PAL (European and/or Australian region) games, and it doesn't apply to turbo grfx cd games. The SBI file will need to have the same name as the CUE file, which is why the PluginLog generates that message that the file doesn't exist.

Anyways, I've been meaning to bring this discussion to either tom760 or Davideo7 but I keep either forgetting or get distracted. I'm going to leave this here for me to come back to when I email Tom, this is the VizzedEmulatorHost-log file:

tRIUNE : I was getting errors on my own PC when trying to run this...
I loaded MP3.cue to the run game and it seemed to work.
Perhaps we could try that for YS4?

Vanelan : That file is actually what I named it when I added the game (MP3) since I had to convert the audio files to work with mednafen. In other words, the CUE can be named any random game and will still work as long as the contents point to the iso or bin + tracks.

The translations are also up-to-date.

Also, when I run it, it does get the same error but continues to run.
Any idea why the vizzed plugin would close after the error but the same version of Mednafen runs it on my PC?

I'm also able to run this game with the same version of mednafen outside of the plugin (with a save file) without it crashing.

tRIUNE : Is there an exit on error option in Mednafen itself? Or conversely, is there a continue on error?
I don't know how much control you have over command line options with vizzed.

I've been offline for awhile -- mobile only, so I haven't checked in, and I've finally gotten my PC back online.  I'm just wondering if there's been any news on this issue.

Lassiter : Sorry to say, we haven't made much progress with the plugin working with this game.
As tRIUNE mentioned, we are both able to run the game outside of vizzed in MEDNAFEN...it generates the same error as the vizzed plugin for me, but doesn't exit...
There isn't an exit on error option that I know of, but something is definitely stopping it from running...
