I don't have an Xbox 360 controller, but I do have a Mayflash USB Classic Controller Adaptor for PC. It's meant to act as an Xbox 360 controller, and while it works just fine on other games and most Vizzed RGR plugin games, It doesn't work properly with nullDC. It does detect the device and its input, but it's all wrong. Only the left analog stick does things on the Dreamcast BIOS, and I can't get past the Shenmue title screen. Changing the controller settings doesn't help at all. Does anyone have an idea on what the problem is?

Congo! : Yes, the problem is you're using SDL, SDL tends to crash a lot or not recognize the controller I'm using (PS4).  Change it to Xinput, seen here: https://gyazo.com/151d49f2e29e7a07cdc62264a36073a7

On a slightly unrelated note, how come the "adjust plugins" and "audio adjustment" buttons don't work? There are a few rendering errors in Shenmue, and I'd like to see if I can modify the settings to get better screenshots.

Davideo7 : I looked at the ranks. It has me on there and has my current shots, but there is something weird. It doesn't have me in any placing. It still has Juiliasme123 at 1st place, even though I currently have more screenshots. Also, it still says there are only 23 total between everyone so far, but I currently have 77. It is only counting Juliasme123 an Serotriptomine. None of my screen shots have below a 3 rating. Most don't have descriptions yet, but some do, yet the rank page doesn't count those ones either. Any idea what is going on?

Also hit another snag. The game gives me the Failed to download message again. Yesterday, I played the game, closed it, played it again, and had no issues. The ROM was downloaded properly. Then it wouldn't play because it is failing to download even though it was already downloaded. I went ahead and deleted the ROM from my vizzed folder, and it didn't work this time. I then deleted my save game file. Didn't work. I then decided to just delete the plugin completely and reinstall it and start my plugin from scratch. No luck. It still says "Failed to download game ROM file". I went ahead and tried multiple Dreamcast games, and it is doing the same thing. Games for other systems work fine. Any suggestions on what to do?

That's strange, I tried it myself and was able to play just fine. I'm not sure what the issue is and it's strange that it'd try to download it again after it was already downloaded on your computer.

Not enough information to really trouble shoot the problem. Does the problem happen at a certain time of day? Is there anything you're doing differently the times it didn't work compared to the times it did work?

Davideo7 : As far as I know, I am not doing anything differently. As for the working at certain times, I can't really say. I was finally able to get it to download at about 12:30pm on the 5th. Later that same day, I got the game to work, but I just didn't have a wired controller to play it. Last night was the first time I actually managed to play a dreamcast game here because I got a wired controller. I can try playing later this evening to see if it works. If it doesn't work around the same time it worked last night, I would say that the time isn't a factor. Although the game started downloading around noon for me on the 5th, and the game wouldn't work for me today around that time, so I wouldn't think that would be the issue. But since I have only really played once, I don't think that is enough times to really say that for certain.

Most of the screenshots are taken in a a location so be sure to specific the location for all screenshots taken in a location and properly categorize all of your screenshots. 2. Over 90% of your screenshots of characters have just 1 character in it instead of 2 or more.

I've also modified the requirements of the first bonus so that you guys will be more likely to hit it:
The prize amounts will be doubled if a screenshot is taken of at least 400 different characters between the 2 games among all contestants (there are 407 characters total)!

Davideo7 : I'll give it a shot. I am not sure if I will be able to do the 90% thing though. Mainly for the gangs like the Mad Angels in Shenmue I. A lot of them are only seen in fights where there are always multiples. It might be possible though. I don't think 400 should be super difficult. Getting everyone in Shenmue I isn't too difficult. Shenmue II will be really hard though since there are a lot more districts, the districts are significantly larger, there are a lot more crowded public places in the restaurants, there are individual buildings that have more than a whole district from Shenmue I, and a lot of places are no longer accessible after a certain time. It is going to be very hard to do, but it will be fun trying. Too bad the school year starts this week and got to go back to teaching

It seems this 'Failure to download ROM file' problem is just something that randomly happens and eventually fixes itself. But I would still like to try to delete the ROM because that worked for me once. But I don't want to delete the save file I have because I am fairly far into the game and it would take a while to get back there. I was going to move the save file somewhere else, clear all the ROM info from my plugin folder, and put the save file back. Problem is, I can't find the save file. In the nullDC file, there is no save folder like there is with all the other plugins. The only files I see are

The none of them have anything that says shenmue. The only place I find any shenmue files is in the Rom folder that is outside of my User folder. From what I can tell, there is no save file there. I skimmed through this file before making a save in the game to see if any new file got added after I saved my game, but did not notice any new file made in this folder. Any idea where the Dreamcast save files are stored so I can delete the Shenmue file without having to completely start over?

Davideo7 : I have noticed something about the website you provided that had character lists and pictures. Particularly the Workers at the Harbor, a lot of pictures for some characters are just reused for other characters. Since they never say their names in the game itself, it is not possible to really know which one is the right one in the picture. For that matter, it is not really possible to know what the other one is supposed to look like. I looked on other Shenmue sites to find different pictures. Turns out that all of the characters that I can't find in the other site due to duplicated pictures are the only ones that don't have any profiles made on other shenmue sites. There are a total of 18 characters who work in the Harbor who don't have a picture for us to go off of, which means it isn't possible to get all of the characters in the game.
