We can't deny that Robert Downey Jr molded Marvel into what they are today, he took Iron Man and then put Marvel on the map and gave the company the reputation they needed to build off of. But what are they going to do once he retires from Marvel?

Downey will continue making movies, but when it comes to superhero movies, he was actually supposed to quit earlier this year. He can support himself if he quits, making 40 million dollars per movie, but can Marvel keep up the reputation, and do they have enough well respected stars in their line up to move on without Iron Man? Which will actually be quite soon. Next year, Downey will have a main role in the next Captain American movie, and after that he is supposed to appear in the 3rd Avengers movie the following year, and that's suppose to be his final movie within the Marvel universe.

Do you think he will actually retire from this genre like he said he would a few years ago or do you think he will crank out a few more movies as Iron Man? Who do you think will have the best shot at becoming the next face of Marvel? And do you think Marvel movies will now have the same amount of hype and support that they have been having?

As long as there is money to be made Downey will surely play. Now that is blood stream is clean he can concentrate on acting.

However, Marvel has to be careful in order not to get fans tired. The various franchises seem to still attract crowds, but they must not water it down. I do not think Downey is the main pillar; Thor and Captain America seem to be very successful too.

That's a good question. Marvel's kind of moving forward with a lot of things right now but they may cut ties with him over money if he asks too much. the Avengers are more than Iron Man. That was always a part of the team were the membership changes. Add Spider-Man now? Ant Man was an Avenger in the comics. There were so many. Black Panther too. Exciting time nonetheless.

Ferdinand : In addition to his normal salary, Robert demanded an extra 40 million dollars for the Avengers 2 ticket sales and has already demanded another 40 million just for filming the next Captain America movie, not even counting the sales, which should be near a billion, ao if anything, it might get to the point where he asks for too much.

zanderlex : Wow. I didn't even know that. There's a lot of possibilities though. In comic book story lines Tony stark became an alcoholic and gave up being Iron Man for a while and James Rhodes took over. But he's already War Machine now. After Civil War it may be different, Iron Man was a key figure in that storyline, maybe he'll die. His character is a jerk in that I always thought.

Ferdinand : Well, once the movies actually come out we'll see what happens with his character, but for now we can just speculate. As long as they come up with a good ending for him, and don't just have him disappear, then I'll be fine.

zanderlex : I don't know a lot about the storyline, it's a little past my time. But from what I do know is I think that it sort of winds up being Iron Man vs Captain America at one point. At least in theory. Captain America is right by the way too. People shouldn't be forced to register their super-powers. It's unconstitutional. I'm probably totally wrong though,

Ferdinand : I probably would be wrong as well, when it comes to Marvel, I only know a few specific worlds, theres some I don't know, and when it comes to all of them together, I'm lost. Like for Iron Man, I know most of the story, but then when you throw him in with all the others, I completely lose track of what's going on.

zanderlex : I don't know either anymore. I used to. But now they've re-booted people's origins and changed so many things I can't keep track. I can recognize most characters and some of their abilities, but even now that changes it seems. One character I wouldn't mind seeing them introduce is She-Hulk. For obvious reasons...... lol
