I have a few questions about playing video on the 2DS and can't seem to find anything specific because everything I look up I for the 3DS in general, not necessarily the 2DS.

What are some of the video apps that I would be able to get, and if I have videos on an SD card, are those playable or are only videos recorded on the specific device playable?

You really won't find anything specific for 2ds since it's compatible with all the apps that a 3ds can access. As for playing videos on sd card, you have to convert the video first to .avi format and chop it into 10 min. videos. I'd rather watch stuff with a smart phone.

I recently updated my 3DS to the new 3DS XL but I'm not sure of the video player capabilities. I know that there is a built in video player, but I'm not sure of the quality or the format required to watch clips. I'll have to look into it further.

I do know that there are apps you can DL for Netflix, Hulu Youtube etc.

Jordanv78 : Without the internet, apps like those wouldn't really work. I'm gonna have to mess around with the 2DS once it comes in, a bit disappointed if I can't get any good videos. J should have gotten a 3DS if I had the funds.
