So iphone 4 problems

Basically my iphone 4 won't let me open any of my apps. When I open any of them it forecloses back to the home screen. Eventually I'm going to get a new phone when I have the money but for now I gotta stick with iphone. I was wondering if anybody could tell me how to back up my iphone. I have a ton of photos and contacts that I don't want to lose and if I do a reset without backing up I will lose all that. I'm going to have to do a complete reset on my iphone to fix whatever problem I'm having I believe. 

If anybody can help me that would be really great. Thanks! Also if you have any other suggestions on how I can fix the problem I'm having I'm all ears.

Vanelan : Yeah I restarted it yesterday and then again today when I read your reply. It's like it turns off and when I turn it back on all the apps I had open are still open on my phone sort of like it's not even restarting which is weird. I uninstalled Facebook messenger and reinstalled it and it's letting me use that app now but the others that I didn't reinstall it didn't. I may just  have to reinstall all of them one by one until I get them all reinstalled :/

Bintsy : You could reset the phone back to factory default, then that way you could just get a fresh start. Might be easier than just re-installing all of your apps.

Jordanv78 : I might be better off just buying a new phone all together but I got  to wait until I have the money. I really don't want to go to the process of doing a factory reset. I have worked like 5 or 6 days straight and I have to work again tomorrow 5 to 10. I just got home (2:40AM) from my shift. Sunday is my only day off this week ... so I'm gonna wanna rest more than anything. 

Vanelan : I did that and it closes them but it will just come back later if I'm messing with an app. Also I wanted to tell you I talked to somebody who worked at the county jail in my town and I have always wanted to be in law enforcement. I find it very interesting and she told me to come fill out an application down there. I told her I had no experience or college and she said that's fine xP I think I'm going to go get an application later on when I can. Just telling you because I wanted to know what you thought about it.
