Frieza had never trained before so he trained and got ridiculously strong. Alright, I can buy that.

Cell saga and the hyperbolic time chamber - a year worth of training in a special dimension. Convenient but still believable as a reason to get stronger quickly enough to beat the enemy and not something they just made up on the spot.

Even KaioKen in the first fight of Z with Goku and Vegeta. The technique wasn't designed to go above 2 or 3 but Goku pushed it because of need. And likely it had never before been used by a Saiyan and perhaps that is why he survived it when others couldn't.

The new episode though just had no logic to it when Hit got better. He just decided to improve on the spot and then did. And then did again for even less of a reason. Really lazy writing on that one.

imamonster : Oh, I know that Bio-Broly wasn't as bad as people say it is. I really liked it. Android 18 got to do some stuff.   It's not my favorite Broly movie, that's the first one. I... Was about to rant on for paragraphs about the three Broly movies, but that's not what this thread is about. Oh, and I could rant for a while, and have before about Broly. He's my favorite DBZ villain.

In regards to Super, I'll most likely just stick to playing the games, and maybe just youtube the fights. Just like Naruto. XD

Krillin not that much, he's one of the people that gets told exposition.

A user of this : is it good? Not yet. I'm still watching it because I'm curious to see where they go with what they've done so far but it is not a good show like DB or DBZ were.

Still, I think it has potential to become better.

Krillin is not being used at all basically. He is the narrator. Piccolo has a bit more of a role this time but he's basically in a similar role as he was in the Buu saga. He's not a strong fighter and is more involved in pushing the plot along rather than actually being part of it himself.

So what do I think about episode 40?

It was pretty fun, and I am happy that this saga has now ended.

Anyway I felt that the fight ended pretty well

imamonster : I hated the Goku vs Hit fight personally. It felt so contrived. Hit just improved whenever he needed to in order to win. Bah!

I did like the ending though. Very Goku.

And the ending was interesting. Not sure what the end goal of that is but at least it is something new.

geeogree : It was very up and down for me, biggest fault of the fight being that hit can improve for no good reason.

imamonster : yeah, I like most Goku fights but Hit improving made no sense. They could have easily kept the fight more or less equal and saved the Kaio-Ken for another fight instead. I see no reason why Hit couldn't have beaten Goku or had it end the same way after a while.

So, after having an entire tournament it sounds like there is just going to be another one? Is there nothing better that they can come up with but tournaments? What about something invading from one universe into another one or something? At least I hope that something else interesting happens before this next tournament happens.

Dragon Ball Super has been pretty boring in many places and ways, but that is what it is known for, besides the fighting.  I just watched the newest episode Sunday, and it was nothing but talking and five minutes of Goku laughing while trying to shake hands with the King of the 12 universe, and then it took another 10 minutes just to summon and show the super Shenron.  I don't really know why Hit got so strong, but there is a reason for it I'm sure.  Perhaps Goku's next rival to push him over the edge again and make him stronger.  As for Piccolo and Krillin, sorry, but they are just filler.  I know Gohan asked Piccolo to train him again like he used to, so I imagine there will be several episodes of that going on in the future, so at least Piccolo will have some sort of roll again.  He is more of a moral support character, even though he fused with one who called himself Kami (god).  Perhaps there is another he could fuse with and become a rival again.  I loved Piccolo and how strong he was and how much he helped everyone else.  I still can't wait for the next episodes to come out regardless.  I have, and will always be, a fan for life.

geeogree : I completely agree, just another tournament would be stupid, but judging from the previews they are gonna do something else.

imamonster : yeah, as long as there is some other story arc before that happens then I'm okay with that. They need to do something to either build up another character or something that will make Goku and Vegeta stronger so they can fight the best from every universe.

Now we are in between story arcs where nothing happens but random character interaction and silliness. I like that sort of thing when binge watching but I hate it when I'm waiting every week for a new episode to come out

this episode wasn't very good:

it was so camp and felt forced. it was really cringey at several times but this is a problem I have with anime in general. I agree with you geeogree: that its annoying to have an episode like this when waiting for a week.

Episode 44 felt like another throwaway episode until the end. I'm interested to see what they are going to do with 2 Vegeta's. Everything else felt like a continuation of the silly stuff that was done before. At least the ending for this episode gave me something to look forward to.

Just finished the latest episode and while the fight between Goku and the Vegeta copy was fun it was disappointing to again not have a proper conclusion to a fight between those 2. I expect that either the series will end with them never fighting or it will end with them finally figuring out who was the best.

Still, the ending of the episode was the best part. Whatever "filler" this was it is over and now it is time to move on to the next story arc. I'm really looking forward to this.

Finally an episode that piques my interest. Trunks is back.... or we're back with Trunks in the future. At the end of the episode we finally see who appears to be the Villain of the next arc and he looks a lot like a character we already know which is pretty awesome. Clearly it isn't but looking similar is enough to make this first episode pretty compelling. I can't wait to find out where this goes. This is the first time in DB Super that I can say I'm seriously excited about what happens next.

Another good episode. Still a bit light-hearted because the current time didn't know what was going on. I liked the way the episode ended too. I wonder if we'll get a fight right away or not. Not that Trunks would be much of a challenge but it would still be neat to see.

I'm definitely looking forward to how this arc progresses. I wonder how "Black" from the future will get back into the past.

I'm not going to lie I started watching this as soon as I saw some goku look a like on youtube somewhere and I had t know. I didn't brother watching the other episodes I went straight for the trunks arc. Things have gotten pretty interesting but I really need to know about black goku something caught me when he said in the last episode *I can't go back to that era* I was like wait what does that mean....I just need more of what and why this black goku is so bad to the bone. @.@

I know I said I won't watch it bla bla but they did a good job drawing me to just for that arc
