I had a great pokemon. It was a male magicarp at level 100 and I had it for 1 and a half years. It wouldn't battle. It wouldn't take poffins. It wouldn't even come out of the stupid POKEBALL! This happened for a whole 3 days and then. I turned on my game. In my diary it said...'Go to poke centre at 5:00pm within the next 5 days'. Of course I rushed over right away! I went up to a guy dressed in black and he put a magicarp on the floor! IT WAS RAGI! MY MAGICARP! It was dead. The guy said to me 'We heard it flopping about last night from your computer boxes and we took it out' I was already crying before he made it worse!
'RAGI was coughing and flopping around the place! He couldn't breathe! Then...' I was dreading the next part...
'It stopped mooving and began to smell realy bad! We are truly sorry. Take it with you to the grave yard and berry it where ever!' I took it to the grave yard thingy and pressed A by a tomb stone on the top floor. It said 'Would it be OK to berry RAGI here?' I said yes and this whole 3 minuit funeral took place. I'm alright now but it was a big shock. Thing is, about another 50 of my pokemon are just as old in a few weeks! I don't think I could beare a repeat!

yeah i agree i dont know if your not telling the truth or if you are i am going to need proof aswell to say that pokemon in the games either pokemon diamond, pearl or platinum die.

Is that even really possible for that to happen in a pokemon game???

I do think it isn't very likely; the games have become quite... "fluffy" XD

Though, seeing as there was an issue with berry trees stopping to grow (and you needed to get the berry update from nintendoh for it), I suppose it isn't impossible.
I once had a very weird message similar to that of the Pokerus, but I was in such a daze I basically clicked through the PC dialogue before I was even halfway through reading... and even after resetting I didn't hear of it again.

*shrugs* In a sense I'd be both for and against that... Pokemon dieing I mean.

well it could be one of the minor glitches which happened the older games like red and blue.

I remember once playing Red in the middle of the night, and all the sudden all Pokemon I fought with turned into squares that were striped red/black. Next time I turned the game on, it ceased to function...
At first I didn't know where the problem was, but apparently my cartridge shortcircuited or something, because I could see some of the connectors had a sort of burn mark across and were merged D:

*ouch* now that really sucks to happen especially in the middle of the game.

I don't have a lvl 100 one to brag about, but I do have a lvl 50 one One of my longterm goals on Sapphire was to have a complete Dex set of Pokemon, all at lvl 50, and I'm into the 3rd gen ones now (haven't trained in a while).
However, some Pokemon can't be obtained under that level, so my next goal would be a lvl 100 dex

So I do see enough reason for wanting to have one.

Yeah, this user made alot of spam threads, I'm guessing this is another one as I have been looking into this and have found nothing real about Pokemon dying in any of the games.

Here's an example of a fake answer I found:

Yes. Leave your pokemon at the daycare, but look at the times involved for different games:
Blue / Red - A Fortnight
Yellow - 3 Weeks
Silver / Gold - 1 Year
LeafGreen / FireRed - 1 Year
Ruby / Sapphire / Emerald - 2 Years
Diamond / Pearl - 3 Years
Platinum - N/A [Because they thought it was a bit stupid in the end]

Considering Red / Blue / Yellow had no real time clock or way of telling that X amount of time has passed this is obviously fake.

i left.. lemme think.. i think it was a sandshrew? well thats not the point. i left a pokemon in the daycare in blue for the entire duration of the game, didnt check on it once (tbh, i forgot about him). then i proceeded to catch everything in the game, and i had also defeated the elite four about 20 times. probably a month of playing back then (i was like.. 9 gimme a break). i then went to the day care to put something in it, and i discovered my sandshrew, which was like level 70. it wasnt dead, so i dunno about the red/blue thing
