Greetings and Salutations my fellow retro gaming enthusiasts (as well as those of other gaming perspectives). Like with many of you, I to have a deep appreciation and love for the world of gaming. However, unlike some (if not most of you), I lack the resources, time, and patience to move i to the modern age of gaming. I will however agree to this:

1) Many of the games today are still an exquisite masterpiece.
2) Many of the gamers these days get a little too carried away.

All things aside, there is still so much beauty and elegance that the world of gaming has to offer. Although there are millions upon millions of reasons why being a "gamer" is frowned upon, there are only five outstanding reasons why gaming is more beneficial than it appears:

1) Gaming can provide an outlet for people under stress.
2) Gaming can help improve hand-eye coordination.
3) Gaming can help some people comfortably associate with others.
4) Gaming can give some people a home away from home.
5) Gaming can help people learn in a much easier and more appealing method.

So, all things aside, I hope to be a major part of this community and share with all of you, the passion and devotion I have for gaming.

May you all succeed in your journeys.

18mlivingston :

Thank you kindly for those words my fellow associate. It warms my soul knowing that I can still create a post worthy of being read by such a beautiful community. I do suppose, however, being limited on only one post a day is a bit infuriating, but rules are rules, tomorrow or sometime, I shall post an "about me" thread.

Hello, and welcome to Vizzed, my friend. It's wonderful seeing someone who takes gaming as seriously as you appear to, and who considers it a true form of art.

I'd like to agree with your third positive point on gaming (though I agree with all of them, for the sake of brevity I'll address only this one) : gaming does indeed allow some to socialize more comfortably. In fact, it brings many people from many different walks of life together. I for example am a very conservative person, I'm a Christian (a preacher actually), and my life and values are very firmly rooted in my beliefs. However through the medium of gaming I have befriended many different kinds of people: from Buddhists to Pagans to Atheists. And many more things including vastly different lifestyles outside of religious practices. We know that we disagree on things and we share why we do, but we can find a common ground in gaming and recognize one another as not only fellow humans, but fellow gamers, and thus members of our own community. The way games bring people together is wonderful.

Anyway, if you need anything, feel free to contact us, or simply ask here. And I'm sure you know this since you have already posted more than once today, but just in case it wasn't a mistake, you can make many posts in a day, but you may only make one thread a day (until your powerlevel is changed to Member).

Finally, if I may, I would like to leave you with a tip: in order to ensure that people find your post/reply to them, summon them by either clicking on "Reply to post" as you did in reply to 18mlivingston, or type their username at the start of a new line, followed by a space and a colon.

Eirinn : like this. This sends a notification to the user you summon. Summoning the thread maker is pointless however, and is considered a "double summon". Good forum etiquette would be to avoid double summoning most of the time.

I hope this helped and I hope you have a wonderful time on Vizzed.

RetroidGameoid : Welcome to the site! I really hope you enjoy your time here.

I would have to agree. Although I play Modern games As well as Retro, I find that I play way more retro games than anything else. If I need cheering up, I go back to these games. Just goes to show how great they really are. I mean some of these games we are still playing 20-30 years later.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm always happy to help.
