It happened in the past with unimportant games, but now it's affecting the NES too.

24 hours ago I was able to play normally Dragon Warrior II. Last night I was able to use the directional pad and the start button without any problems... but I can't use A and B, whatever keys I assign them too. I completely emptied my cache but nothing worked. Should I switch to Mednafen instead?

Well, the solution shouldn't automatically be "switch emulators," so can you try to reconfigure the controls to:
Select = a
Start = s
B = z
A = x

Then click close and click close again.
Don't click the X on either of those windows.

Let me know if that works.

Vanelan : I switched to Mednafen and everything is working. Would you apply your "cure" to other emulators? I tried Jumpman (Mac) once but I couldn't jump to matter how hard I tried. I also tried Doki Doki Panic and I couldn't jump either

Vanelan : actually, a lot of games suddenly stopped working with control changing about a month or so ago, and the only fix that was currently available was to switch to the Mednafen emulator so that's what I normally advise until the controls work on other versions.
