So, everybody has drinks that they've tried, and will never try again. Then, there are your go to drinks, and the drinks you only have on a special occasion. What are they?

For me, the drink I had once, and will never have again was some kind of bourbon. It was 180 proof. My buddy had it in his freezer the night before I left island when getting out of the Army, and he was like...  " It's been there for 6 months, and there's just enough for the 3 of us to have a shot. Let's knock it out. " Yeah... never again.

My go to drink is usually a malt as I recently discovered them, an finally found something that I genuinely like. I usually go for some kind of Mike's Hard Lemonade, or a form of Smirnoff Ice.
Sometimes I'll prefer a shot of Fireball or whisky, and a mix drink, usually consisting of vodka ( preferably triple distilled, 100 proof Smirnoff vodka ) and Sunny D, and sometimes some Redbull in there.

My special occasion drinks are the Birthday Cake shot from Buffalo Wild Wings. I had that on my 21st birthday, and it legitly tastes like Chocolate Cake. If you do it right.

I've tried beers, and I just can't get around the bitterness of them. So, I literately have like... 7 home brews sitting in my fridge that my mother made me for my 21st birthday. They've been sitting there for 4 months now.

So what does everybody else like and not like?

Weird thing is, I'm not much of a drinker. In social situations, I'll hope for a Samuel Adams as I can stomach the taste the most. I got myself used to stuff like scotch and whisky only for the purpose of social situations. I didn't want an important higher up to offer me a drink and have me start coughing once I took a sip. They aren't really my thing, though

I'm not much of a drinker of anything. Other than water and milk (and not every day), I just don't feel like drinking. Oh, I will have an occasional glass of wine/beer when I'm among friends, but since I usually ride my bike back home I have to be very careful.

I am a drinker.  I love alcohol.  I drink mostly beer and I'll go from the light blondes to the big heavy nut brown ales and stouts.  I'll take everything in between too.  I don't have to have the hops everyone really seems to love and the right amount is nice.  Anything more?  You're drinking a lilac bush.

I am getting the hang of sour beers but they aren't the favorite of mine.  I'd rather something else when it comes to sours.  And my all time favorite is Harpoon's IPA.  It's a brewery in Boston and we went there often when I lived on the east coast.  I don't know if they sell west of the Mississippi River but I live in Michigan so I have access to it in bottle.

I like sake, gin, and red wine.  I'm not a fan of white wine.

I'll tolerate vodka and tequila and the other alcohols but the flavor of bitters really gets me and whiskey and bourbon are off the table.  I just can't do it.  I've tried.  I go to weddings and start with a glenlivit or something like that and it doesn't work.

Yuck.

I drink milk, Kool Aid and Sprite. A drink I will never ever ever have is Tea. That might be strange to some since I'm from the American South. But I hate Tea it tasted nasty so never again

I drink beer or whatever it is the cheapest in the store or whatever they have at the bar when I say "one beer, please, my good man/lady".

What I don't or prefer not to drink is any kind of straight up booze. Meaning anything that is stronger than wine. My limit is two shots minimum. I have been banned out of enough bars and have had enough embarrassing situations I cant recall already. So no more. With just beer I hear I am a nice, fairly intelligent guy but with strong drinks, they say I go berserk. And most stuff I cant even recall.

I'll start with what I don't like. When it comes to alcohol, I do not like these 3 things...beer, beer and beer. I don't like beer. I have never wanted to try beer, nor will I ever. Never has my mouth even touched the crap, and I can't even stand the smell of it. I have been close to taste it a couple times, but the smell hits my nose and that's the end of it.

My favorite alcoholic beverage, or malt in this case, is any kind of Smirnoff. Any flavor, even the original kind that doesn't really have a distinct flavor. If I had to choose a favorite flavor, its probably either green apple or black cherry...but I'll drink any flavor of the stuff. I also have some liquors I like. A couple off the top of my head would be white russian, long island ice tea, b52, and the occasional sex on the beach depending on how its made.

MattyIce : I'd have to say that my favorite would be Black Cherry as well. Isn't that the limited edition one right now? Or is that the Pink Lemonade one that is limited edition?

thing1 : I'm not really sure. Its actually been a long time since I last had one. However, I know for sure that black cherry has been around forever so its probably the pink lemonade one that's the limited edition.

A beer that I had once and will never have again is Samuel Adams. I guess it was kind of my fault because before I had this I was drinking Coors Light ( the little banquet bottle ) and already had like 2 or 3 of them because it was my first time trying it and they were freaking good. I usually don't like any kind of beer either, but Coors Light is the only exception for me. So anyway, I went from one of the lightest beers ever made to.. like.. the heaviest lager I've ever tasted! Came very close to vomiting but I'm sort of happy to say that I finished the whole bottle without spilling a drop. Maybe a cringe here or there but that was all, lol. Will never try SA again.

My go to drink is usually Mike's Hard Lemonade. Does not really matter what flavor it is but I guess I drink black cherry the most. Smirnoff Ice will do me fine as well but I kind of drifted away from them because they stopped selling the six pack of the Raspberry flavor. This is my favorite of the brand and the only time I ever see it anymore is when they are selling them in the 24 packs, which is crazy. What the hell, right? I may have a shot of whiskey once in a while as well, usually Jack Daniel's since that is the best of all the whiskeys.

A special occasion drink would be a shot ( or 2 ) of Winter Jack, which is an awesome JD whiskey drink that is mixed with apple cider liqueur and some other spices. They say you should serve it up warm ( like heat it up in the microwave or something ) but to me it tastes a lot better on the rocks. I mean... it's whiskey for crying out loud. A Long Island Iced Tea is also good around this time of year.

thing1 : I'd have to drink like 10 ( give or take ) Mike's Hard Lemonade to get drunk on that XD I have never drank so much to be considered "drunk" before either XD But, who knows? If you come to town, I might be so excited that I drink more than I have ever drank before. And what's better is I could get my wife to bartend for us. Haha!

MattyIce : Wow, 10 Mikes?! You'd pass out bro HaHa! I would say 3 or 4 in a row would do you just fine. Maybe 10 Coors Light will get you drunk because I think it has like 3% alcohol or maybe less. Beer usually ranges from 3 to 5 but Mike's is anywhere between 5 and 6 percent.

thing1 : Sounds like a plan.

Brigand: I second that. It was like 20 when I start tolerate beer (Molson Canadian); before that it was either wine or beer coolers - and occasional red Port. I've always hated soft drinks because of their bubbles, just like beer. However with so many microbreweries beer can be VERY enjoyable.

To drink or not to drink, that is the question. 1 thing I'll never try again, I hope, is ever-clear. I made a concoction when I was about 22 with mountain dew, sour apple pucker and ever-clear, that stuff tasted like kool-aid, sadly though, I had a bit of alcohol poisoning the following morning so that one's off the table from now on, by the way, I used the other 1/2 pint to start a fire the very next time I went camping, so it didn't go completely to waste =)

Never did care for the taste of beer, but as Brigand stated, it kind of grows on you and it's cheap so it's become the norm around here. On a good day, or a really good day, like when I have money, I like my Jim Beam, straight shots with a coke chaser. 1 thing I discovered a few years ago was American Honey, surprisingly enough, mixing that at 50% with good old jimmy takes the edge off of the bourbon but still leaves enough of a kick to keep my drinks to a minimum, let me know if any of you guys, or gals, try my concoctions if you liked them or not =)

I don't drink at all any more. Haven't for a few years now. But yeah, when I was younger I forced enough beer down my throat that I learned to crave it. After all is said and done, my go to beer was Miller High Life. For mixers, I'll take a CC and coke, but I used to just order shots and sip them like drinks. If no CC I'd take Windsor, then whatever is cheap and on the rail for whiskey. I once totally OD'd on vodka and could never even stand the smell of it for years. Eventually I could handle it in fruity drinks but that's about it.
