I would like to start a Vizzed Book Club.

Membership is simple:

1) You can recommend a book others read, if you do this then please also include a personal synopsis (as short as you want) about the book in addition to what you liked about it. E.g. Romeo and Juliet- a book about love, loss and the burgeoning of adulthood. I like this book because it reminds me of when I first fell in love.

2) You can make a request for a suggestion of a book from a genre that you may like about. E.g. I would like to read a modern Wizards and Adventure Story, then someone might suggest Harry Potter.

3) You can discuss a book with other members, so you might have read the Lord of the Ring trilogy and you want to find out what others make about it, or maybe there is something you are unclear on and want to check out.

4) You can review a book and say what you liked/disliked about it.

If you can think of any other ways this book club can be used, and it is your club, then please notify me and I can add this to the list.

Totts :   For my first recommendation, I recommend The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

It is a wonderful story. You are introduced to the flat character Fatty Bolger who distracts the ring wraiths allowing Frodo Baggins and his decades younger hobbit travel companions to escape. Along their journey they meet and accept aid from Tom Bombadil, a jolly and apparently powerful man whom the ring has zero effect on. There is also a proper origin told for the blades the hobbits use, even Frodo's blade before he replaces it with Sting, a gift from his uncle Bilbo who is about 129 years old at this time to Frodo's 51 years old.

If you stay interested in this story and finish reading it, you might find yourself ready to take on the other two thick volumes in the series. What I've read of The Lord of the Rings has been an enjoyable tale of adventure and amusement.

Let's a book list started everybody. I got my entry logged. What is yours going to be?
