Well, after many terrible months, I finally got something to help out with my school stuff, but it's not the one I've been waiting for but ETV instead. This gives me $333 a month for 3 months. It will help me get a bus/train pass for one month and hopefully one or two of my cheap books once I pay off some of my debts.

I'm also going to be able to finally eat a bit at school, but once I pay off my debts and get a transit card, I'll only have about $50 for food after I get my books and I would still need about 3 or 4 more books left, but hopefully my regular financial aid refund can come in soon, the school said that they sent the refund a 3rd time right to my bank account on April 3rd, but that still hasn't come in yert but hopefully soon.

Sweet dude. Glad that finally came through!

It seems like it's going to be tight.

As long as you make the most out of every dollar, it seems like you'll be able to make it. Best of luck.

Glad your life is improving a little. Depending on where you are (and if you don't have to buy at the cafeteria) try to look for bulk food like nuts and beans if you like them. Whole Foods usually has them at very reasonable prices.

I bought an unlimited monthly metro card which gets me any amount of rides per day on main buses and trains for 30 days so I won't have to worry about getting to and from school for a while, though I might have wanted to wait until spring break ended to use it since I dont really need it for another three days and it was quite expensive.

It was about $120 meaning I won't be able to even get the one book that I was hoping to get since most of the books are 75 dollars or more and after paying back my debts, I really dont have enough. Not to mention instill owe another debt if about 50 dollars that I have to pay back with my next check.

The next check from this series comes May 8th, so once that comes there's no need to buy books anymore, so unless my regular $1400 financial aid refund finally comes in, my book problem is only going to get worse, but at least now I can stop missing some classes for not being able to get there on time.

I'm very glad to hear that things are brightening up for you, zander! Especially since I've been hearing that you've been going through some tough times. Just keep believing that everything will get better again and you'll be back on track in no time! Let me know when things start to really get better!

*BLEEP* YES!

They sent part of my official refund out on the 10th and it was just deposited this morning! It's only $400 out of the $1400 that I'm supposed to get but combining that 400 with the money I have left over from my emergency check, I can get all my books hopefully AND have like 200 left over for myself and that doesn't include the other 600 that will be coming in over the next 2 months or the rest of the 1400, so now that I'm all set for school, I can blow away some of my money on myself to make up for having to go through so much trouble.

zanderlex: Congratulations! Good to know that after all that trouble you're getting things situated a bit better. Believe me, I know about the financial aid and book-buying woes.  I did that song and dance routine every single semester except my last one (and then didn't have to do it ONLY because every bookstore employee knew me and knew that my voucher would be good WHEN IT FINALLY WENT THROUGH). It can be a pill, but keeping at it is the only way to get things straightened out, regardless of how frustrating it is. I was on the TAA program in my state, so it was really a mess. But hey, I managed to graduate, and I've no doubts that you'll get there too.
