thing1 : Jealousy maybe?

Seriously now. When I did "demystification" conferences in school (answering questions about homosexuality and talking about my experience), we almost always talked about that (non scientific) scale of sexual orientation. According to the person that created it, 10 percent of the population is exclusively straight and 10 percent is exclusively gay.

In other words 80 percent of the population is likely to look at the other/same sex at one time or another and "feel something". In your case, it's likely it's closer to the 100 percent straight. Even I can find some women attractive; I just don't fantasize on them

janus : I am only interested in women sexually. I mean, I can look at guys and appreciate what they have from a male standpoint, but in no way am I interested in them.

Okay, so I will take it back to some of the earlier subjects about labels and whatnot.

Gender (how you feel on the inside), Sex (what you have on the outside), and Sexuality (what you like in bed), are all different things, combined in many different ways. We create labels to help us identify ourselves in a way that makes sense to us and others. It's just like trying to describe the flavor of an Oreo cookie. We have labels like "chocolaty", "sweet", "creamy center", to help us identify the cookie when we are eating it, and to help us describe the cookie to someone else.

For example, I am of the Female sex, I am gender-fluid, and I am bi-sexual (maybe pan-sexual). This means that I have a female body, but can identify as either all female, all male, or somewhere in between at any given time, and I am attracted to both men and women, but also transgender/gender-queer people, which is why I question if I am pan-sexual, or attracted to every-gendered person. It takes a lot of self reflection to decide on which labels you are comfortable with and which best describe you - it is not something that you strive toward or pretend to be, but simply your best explanation of who and what you are. Many people's self-labels change over time as they discover more about themselves and get more comfortable with themselves, and that's okay. But back to my first statement, because there are so many different combinations of sex, gender, and sexuality that are affected by any number of biological, physiological, and psychological variables, that is why there are so many different labels to choose from. So that everyone can have the satisfaction of knowing, oh yeah, that's what I am, and having that knowledge can give you such a feeling of belonging when otherwise you may have felt very, very alone. It lets you know there are other people like you out there, that you can identify with them, and that know how to tell people that.
